I think you've got a nice mix. I never know what to expect next. It's better than real life. Thanks. I like your channel because you inspire me to just get to work on my project and embrace the perfectly imperfect craft of quilting. I like the chatting. You make it feel like a friend is chatting while I am working on something. You are unbelievably likable, keep doing what you are doing and stay true to yourself. Please dont be influenced by trolls. I loved seeing the huge mess of you pulling everything out to sort and clean. It gave me the courage to tackle an overwhelming mess I was avoiding. Your appeal is showing your reality, which is what we all are dealing with. I don't think we want you to be an expert, we want you to be authentic. First, Congratulations!!! That's huge, 10k subscribers, Whoo Hoo!! And second, Kristen (spelling-forgive me) Don't let those trolls change you, your channel, or what you do. You have 10K subbies who love what you are doing, that's why we subscribed. We love your chatting. It makes us feel like we are a part of what you are doing and sharing in the life that you are sharing with us. We love your tutorials and the mishaps that you come across because it shows that we are all human and not perfect; and you show us how you overcame those mishaps. I love that you got a moxie and I, personally, look forward to seeing your quilting videos with the Moxie; especially since I just bought a Moxie as well. Other than that, don't let the nay-sayers bring you down. You are doing a great job if you got 10k people following you and watching your videos, several times over. Great Job, keep going!!! Congratulations on 10K. I watch a lot of quilting channels while I'm hand sewing, and you are one of my favourites because you are authentic, you're not selling anything, and you give your honest opinion without being controversial just for the sake of it. Congrats on the viewer milestone. I check for new videos daily. I especially appreciate that you post a time key in your description. I read it before viewing each video. There have been instances when I have jumped to different topics based on your key. You constantly remind viewers that you consider yourself a novice in many areas and post a video key. Seems to me you do and have done a fantastic job at giving viewers information. I too consider myself a novice. Your relaxed, sit down and chat style is refreshing in a sea of assembly line videos. I have gained knowledge and confidence to try new things from your videos. Please don't let the haters impact you, easier said than done. You have viewers that enjoy your videos! Congratulations on your 10,000 subscribers! I have been following your channel for quite some time now and I thoroughly enjoy it. I like your approach of an everyday quilter and how you take us along on their journey. You are so good about explaining exactly what you did or are doing so that I can learn from you. As far as the long arming video goes I'm not interested in that because I don't have a long arm and I never will be able to have a long arm. But I do enjoy when you take us along in your quilting room be at quilting or organizing your scraps. You always help us when you tell us what you just learned or what you are doing and why you are doing it. There are always going to be people that love to say negative comments. I haven't figured out why they do that. But I hear a lot of the girls that I follow say the same thing. Don't take it to heart because you are a lovely girl and I so enjoy your channel. Thank you for making all your videos and sharing your talents, and yourself with total strangers. I have learned so much and been inspired by you. I don't ever feel intimidated by you and you don't over complicate things or get hung up by what is the "correct way" of doing something. Your unique methods are refreshing to watch. I am a beginner and make mistakes. It is nice to see that in real life that others make mistakes too, that projects don't come out quite as you hoped, and your stitches are not always exactly even and your seams don't match up. Your quilt videos give me so many ideas I want to try, I will need several lifetimes to get them all done. I like that you use so many scraps and use thrifted recycled fabric. I like to think I am helping to recycle items, but I have to admit it is mostly because I can't afford to buy the expensive fabric. Please continue being yourself. Congratulations on reaching a subscriber milestone. Many more people are going to find your channel and subscribe also. As I meet other quilters I tell them they should look at your videos for ideas. I wish we could meet in person because I feel like you have become a friend. As Mr. Rogers used to say, "Thank you for being my friend."

Thank you so much for your lovely comment 💕💕! I do consider many of my regular commenters ‘friends’ though of course I don’t know them really. I’ve recently started doing zoom workshops so I will be ‘meeting’ some folk online this Thursday! Not the same as real life obviously but still nice. Thanks so much again for your kind words and recommending the channel. All the best for all your quilting projects! Hopefully we will meet online or at a quilt show one day!

I love the modern and improv vibe of your quilts. My request would be: Show us your process on your quilts especially lessons learned and tips you learned and applied. I would love to see more Quilts Alongs now that I am retired and can participate! I also like how you demo novel applications of Accuquilt and your freeform experimentation that disregards the quilt police rules (bias? What bias? LOL!) And when some of that experimentation fails I love seeing how you solved or what you did instead.

Congrats on 10k! It’s sad that a couple bad comments overshadow 10k(!) subscribers. Ignore the bad. Can you block them? They’re losers. Keep doing what you’re doing! It’s great!
@ScrapFabricLove2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Not much point blocking they just leave a nasty comment and go I think. I’ll just have to get used to it. I am happy about the 10k, I was just very used to having videos that not many people watched that I don’t yet know how to deal with the comments like that that maybe everyone gets at a certain point. I’ll get better at it hopefully!

❤ I like this channel just the way it is. I like it that you chat, it’s a good representation of YOU. ❤ As for the trolls, well, every comment helps, right? Just ignore the content and reply “thanks for your comment”. Maybe we should ALL REPLY to the comment “GREAT IDEA” “THANKS”, or something similar. That helps, by upping the number of comments, doesn’t it? Then just kick ‘em to the curb and carry on. 😮😂

Thanks Nola! Your continued support is much appreciated. I’ll try to just reply sweetly and move on next time it happens!

My Good Woman, STAND YOUR GROUND! I follow about 35 quilting channels and I am in awe of all of you. How do you have time to create, video, edit, come up with topics. I am in Southern Chester County Pennsylvania. I have an Amish Farm House about 4 miles up the road, talk about intimidating quilting! 3 topics that stand out from you, foundation piecing, showing the process and then when you tested printing the papers for foundation piecing and THE BEST, cleaning out your sewing room. I love those videos. How do others process scraps, 7 weeks ago I fell over several bags of scraps, thankfully I landed on several bolts of fabric and some batting. I started making Coaster and selling in 4 packs, barely makes a dent in the stash but I am not buying anymore fabric unless its for the back. Just get it done quilts just did an interview with some one that does not believe in following the rules, that was what I thought was great. I piece with a machine, my quilting is all done by hand. I sew my binding on and I do it so you CAN SEE IT. Perhaps my quilts are best described as "Utility" I mean for them to be used. As for the "trolls" block them and move on. I like what you do and teach.

Thanks very much for this Christine! I love a good utility quilt and I love not following the ‘rules’ too. Thanks for the feedback on which videos you liked that is super helpful. And thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! 💕💕💕

Congrats on 10K subscribers! I would say keep doing what you’ve been doing...probably what got you to 10K in the first place, right? And though it may be hard, ignore the haters...I’m nearly convinced that there is a bot or a group that just strictly targets people having success...like you wisely said, if you don’t like what I’m saying, doing, watch something else (totally paraphrasing, lol). I guess I just don’t understand why people have to interject themselves at all, just walk away! Keep your chin up and just keep doing YOU! I will keep coming back just to see what you’re up to because I admire your creativity!❤

Kristen- Some people are just bullies. IGNORE THEM!!!!!! They are not worth the worry or attention. IGNORE THEM!!! If they don’t like your content they should just be on their way elsewhere. My favorite type of content is when Creators share the process. When they share tips and tricks. While one Creator may show a traditional block or pattern in one color way it may not spark my creative juices, but the way another Creator explains or the color way they use does. Beginners need a different approach from Intermediate and Experienced Quilter’s. Maybe one video a month for each on ‘How to’s, scrappy vs. Coordinated, etc….. I am not judging, but I would love a sew along or QAYG sew along for 6 - 8 weeks. 😉 Hang in there. The more content you create the more at ease you are becoming. Atta, girl! Rock on, Kristen. Thank you for sharing your passion for Quilting. Cheers.

Hello!!!! Welcome back. I personally love your quilts, tutorials and how you approach them both. Do not change a thing. You do You. There are garbage cans for a reason. )))) Also burn piles for a reason. )))) Take the negative notes, crumple them up and light a match. VERY satisfying to see evil go up in smoke. Ditto unsalvageable craft thingies. When something wont even make a good pillow stuffing, a match works great. ))) The carbon left over is good for the garden too. Hugs on ya Lady.

Huge fan of your channel - congrats on 10K! Well-earned. I think you are handling the nasty comments so well, not pandering to the "haters". I love all your videos, but my favorites are your tips on budget quilting - where to find great scraps, bargain deals, and then how you use the scraps. Congratulations. Please know that most of us love your chats. You (and April's Craftroom) have helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. (My husband had below knee amputation May 13th and spent 54 days in hospital due to necrotizing fasciitis). He still has not been released to begin 6 month process for prosthetic so i am sole caregiver and do not have any time to sew. I've watch most everything you have posted..more than once and it brings me much joy so please disregard the negative people. I received Bernina Q20 with frame and qmatic for Christmas and was really getting 'okay with it when this happened. I'm so happy you got a Moxie and cannot wait to see you... I'll eventually be in my 'she shed learning to longarm right along beside you.

Thanks so much for all your support 💕💕 and best wishes for your husbands journey ahead.

Congrats on 10K! Some things I like are tutorials or sew with me type videos. I like videos on organization and sewing room tours. I'm not a huge fan of just chatting unless there's a purpose like today. But I do like when someone chats while they sew. I watched someone this morning who did that. She was making improv alphabets and I was fascinated. The cool thing about watching a pre-recorded video is that I'm in control of how I watch it and so I can skip certain parts if I want to. People should do that so they don't have to leave nasty comments! I also like when people share tips and tricks or hacks. Some things I don't like are un-boxings, especially of subscription boxes. I usually skip those altogether. I'm not crazy about hauls either unless it's something really special, unique or whatever. Though, I do like to see random hauls like from thrifting or ebay, etc. But if someone discovers a gadget or something that is really cool, I like to see those things. There aren't enough hours in the day to watch every video - so I don't. I don't like livestreams because there's definitely a LOT of chatting there but I might watch the replay so I can skip through. Not crazy about hauls in general, but if it's thrifted or ebay but I don't want to see when someone gets a huge box of fabric donated and they show every single piece of it! I don't have a longarm or want one so I may or may not watch those videos - though to be honest, some of the professionals it's so soothing to watch them sometimes. I know you're going to get better as you go along. Haha - I sound like such a curmudgeon! I'm not - you asked what we like and don't like so that's what I'm doing. I know you want to please people, but you should really do what YOU want to do and people will watch or not. You're definitely do something right to have 10k subscribers!! See you in your next video!
@ScrapFabricLove2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for all the feedback! Really helpful! I haven’t done any livestreams as it’s hard to fit them into life with the kids - pre-recording is much more manageable so glad you like that! Happy to have you dipping in and out of the channel as you see things that interest you! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to reply! 💕💕

Just keep doing you. Screw the negative comments. They can get lost! You made it to 10K by being you and if we choose to follow along your journey we shouldn't define what your channel is about. I sew garments and have like 5 different ways to do one thing. I pick the method that works for me. My amateur quilting is enjoying following along on your journey. If viewers nicely suggest other ways to do something, you can choose to accept the advice or continue doing it your way. I know it's difficult but please try to concentrate on the majority of positive comments.❣️

Is it the "Sew Tite Magnum" magnets that you are considering for loading your quilts? I am too. They are very pricey in my opinion but I have not seen anyone give a negative review on them yet. I hope to have mine in hand in the next 10-14 days. Can't wait to try them out. PS..I personally love your 'I'm not sure how this will turn out but let's give it a whirl' attitude. I'm like that too and watching you helps me feel less intimidated by the way my brain works day to day. Don't change a thing! Just keep being your own perfect self.

Thanks! I’m not sure which ones they are actually. Or how expensive! The lady who runs the shop I bought the long arm from just told me they were getting something in with magnets. Guess I’ll see if it seems over the top for the price when they get them! Also glad you like the try it and see videos as that is pretty much how I roll 😂
