I so enjoy your tutorials and how your quilts are often inspired by your Sitar family traditions. This is a lovely quilt - so pretty with the batik fabrics. Wonderful technique on how you form the circle for the centers with the freezer paper. Thanks for the wonderful inspiration. Most of my handwork is with wool applique. I need to make a point of having it out when I'm watching TV, especially when we're watching repeats of some of our favorite movies - Marvel Superheroes (Avengers, Iron Man), sports movies (Rudy, Remember the Titans) or space-themed movies (The Martian, The Right Stuff, Hidden Figures), etc.

I've got an applique block upstairs that I have had about a year which is waiting to be stitched. I'm too nervous to do it by machine because I don't want to mess it up. You have inspired me to do it by hand. I'm going to get it right now! Thank you. I love Pretty Woman by the way. At the moment I am watching the Pirates of the Caribbean movies - great fun! Love your videos and patterns. You are so charming and funny. Best wishes x

Edyta, I love your videos, your personality and style of talking. it is very soothing and encouraging. I hope to buy and make some of your patterns one day. I am in Canada, and during COVID-19, I just don't want to wait for shipping. ha ha. so... soon I will place an order :-). I would love to see more videos showing your applique techniques. if we buy one of your aplique quilt patterns, does it come with all the shapes or do we still need to order silhouettes too? I would love to see the techniques for applying all those twirling stems and vines and all the pretty flowers and leaves. I very much want to make one of your applique quilt patterns. Thanks!

G'day Edyta, thank you for this amazing tutorial. I'm a tiny bit confused by one thing. Do you really leave the freezer paper in when you sew on the yellow centre piece? I'm so looking forward to trying this one. Thank you again, kind regards, Karen
@wordwalkermomma44 жыл бұрын
You would take it out from the back side after stitching the circle but before stitching down the Dresden flower.
@duskbloom4 жыл бұрын
Edyta sews down the Dresden plate before sewing on the yellow centre. I’m guessing she presses the centre, and then removes the paper before sewing it on? I’m not sure
@cuash554 жыл бұрын
You could and slit the back and remove paper if you wanted but could also remove beforehand....personal preference
@jeffsbug1984 жыл бұрын
This is so beautiful! I am new, would i leave the freezer paper in the center or remove it? Thank you!
@janesublett52724 жыл бұрын
Remove the freezer paper AFTER you applique' the center circle. You can glue baste the center fabric around the freezer paper with the same stick Edyta used on the blades.

Check seam allowance. If you line up opposite tips of petals , all should be even
@cuash554 жыл бұрын
Starch the fabric before you cut, sew, and press your pieces. Make sure you’re sewing at a perfect quarter inch and that should make them lie dead flat. Alsoooooo, you can use a tailors clapper and wool pressing mat for absolutely flat flatttttt blocks. I stitched one together with some starched scraps today, and it was super flat. I’m using the template piece in sweet mint since I don’t have the acrylic lollipop template (trimming the top flat) but should work with any similar template I’d think :)
