Objects in physics engines generally have a "mass" property associated with them so it should definitely be easy for them to simply increase the player's mass multiplicitavely. objects can also be programmed to be "immovable objects" so bosses could definitely be as well.

I guess I'll go with my Gemling gut reaction to what to start with. It was either that or Chronomancer, but Mercenary looks really fun, and there's so much build potential out of Gemling I may as well dive straight in on that. I'll be shifting him into a melee though, and take advantage of the extra skills, maybe I can even creep my way over to the dual wielding two-hander node.

When it comes to evading enemies and passing through them, it wouldn't surprise me if they are going to make a passive or ascendancy that allows you to phase through enemies when rolling. Especially around/inside the assassin tree.

Melee classes have more pysh during roll, they went over this previously in some demo And it can be increased afaik I think dex characters should have phasing chance during roll based on their evasion chance, or at least have it as a notable on passive tree. They're supposed to be agile. As for int characters... Well, I don't have any ideas rn so they can get fckd

If they called Armor Break consuming something like "Exploit Weakness" instead it would make more sense flavor wise. Like your character manages to hit a flawed spot in the enemy armor, hitting for extra damage, but you wouldn't repeatedly be able to perfectly hit the same spot over and over. Makes no sense to present it as "consuming an Armor Break" and their armor then fixing itself.

As long as you always hit the boss within 5 sec of the previous hit, his ability recast will just continue to get slower maxing out at -50% cd once they hit 60% life. It seems it would remain at that as long as you hit within every 4.9 seconds.

I wonder if you can Merc with a melee weapon swap. Would it be strong to fight both from range and close combat. Especially Gremlin has 3 extra skill slots and enhanced gem strength. The granades looks gimiky with a delay explosion, and other AOE skills don't look too strong. Maybe use crossbow for CC and debufs and change to melee for smash!

From what I can tell, there is no downside to always grouping unless too many of you are looking for the same items since the weapon/armor/jewelry item drops do not scale up 1:1 with player count

56:17 - my prediction is witch hunter is used to clear the Uber Pinnacle boss. If you can break its concentration then any phases or new abilities after 60% hp will happen less often meaning less changes to eat a one shot and more time to learn the abilities. I think this node is super strong for it just cause it makes the last 2/3rds of boss fights 1/2 as difficult than every other build. Also the ascendancy isnt attack based meaning we could see a spell swap for bossing since spells have practically no cd/reload and cant safely fight from distances. Imagine this, decimating strike knocking out 30% boss HP, you have to do 10% of the boss HP then its concentration is broken leading to an easier fight, where you just have to do another 50% damage until you cull the boss at 10%. Its gonna be a strong class.

I don't know if it's just me, but It feels like the Mercenary gameplay we've seen so far has had lackluster damage. Why go through the trouble of having to reload/etc when you can just spam spells on another class and do twice/thrice the damage?

Because spells have cast time. Shooting the crossbow is instant and you take the same time to reload as you would cast spells. Single shot ammo doesn't use attack speed only reload time. One node increases reload speed by 40% wich is like 40% attack speed 😂. For 1 node. Also, grenades attack normaly.
