That parlor stove looks tiny. Good thing you down south!

It was smaller than he expected, but it was a cool design and the price was right. 😁

The max speed is set in several places. one is the motor config, the analog input range is independent of that. The drive should have multiple discrete inputs so you can do your speed select that way instead of various resistors in the analog circuit. It's not generally a good idea to run a bigger motor than the drive rating because the switching devices inside the drive (usually one big brick with all the IGBTs, the input rectifier and brake chopper) is expecting a motor impedance of no less than the typical for the drive rating. IE, 5HP 240V motor will be x amps, the margin on the switching devices is enough to withstand some overload, but not deal with windings of much lower resistance that larger motors would have. I burned out a $300 drive trying that.

I could reconfigure the pressure switches to give the speed ranges. The old Fincor drive did not have that capability, hence the resistor bridge. I should probably heed your advice and not try to run the 7.5hp tablesaw motor on a 3kw vfd. I can start it off my idler no problem, just will have to live with 60 hz speed
