Gloria von Thurn und Taxis welcomes Michael Jackson's producer Quincy Jones and opera singer Placido Damingo for a late night dinner.
St. Emmeram Castle lies in the Bavarian town of Regensburg. It is the largest inhabited Castle in Germany and home to one of the most established European nobles families: Thurn und Taxis. Here, Countess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis will be inviting high profile guests to celebrate the performance of opera legend Placido Domingo. The menu is put together and prepared by none other than the Michelin Starred chef Alfons Schuhbeck.

What a wonderful dinner party with a truly amazing guest and a hostess above all others! The food looks so delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. There's a book by Robert Lacey titled, "Aristocracy" published in 1982 dedicated to a chapter on the von thurn und taxis family. After so many years, I hope the book is still in circulation at the library to read up on this interesting family.

Recall when Gloria and Schonbergs came back and forth to stealth shed Imperial dock with Royal Yacht Dannebrog in it at Queen Alexandra's Royal Naval Reserve. If you didn't know then good it was triple secret. From 1975-1979 and was on dive team with some of the royals. Never knew Princess Anne was an Rear Admiral.

You are correct. Her title is actually Dowager Princess of Thurn and Taxis. When her husband died, and her son Albert became head of the family she became a Dowager Princess.
