It is fantastic to see even more boards being added to the catalogue making so many more projects possible in a much simpler manner! The addition of cases is epic as I don't have a 3D printer and just have a bunch of boards floating around in my service spaces, I would get a few of those cases if you make them!

Amazing, and just in time for Halloween lights. I love the flexibility these provide over the diff solo, and defintely recommend the upgrade for the small price uplift. The 3D cases sealed the deal. I wish these could also be made available for the other product lines.

That’s awesome, longer distance data cable has always been an issue where designing my setup caused me some headaches. Now, I got from this video that you “may or may not” be working on a way to either use PoE or some alternative power method to fix the issue where power needs to be available to every boards (receivers). This would be amazing my friend!!! Now we’re talking, this video changes a lot of things for DIY people using WLED and your boards!!! Thanks so much for the good work!!!

Thnx! And yes the next in the Diff line-up I've been working on will also send power along with the UTP cable and then convert it to 5v, 12v or 24v at the receiver location so that you only need to run a single cable and done! But that's still some months away right now. :)

Sorry not yet, still heavily in prototype phase and until all the issues are ironed out and we do a round of broader testing and then move to production, I really won't have an estimate.... When it's done. 😅

Those are currently in assembly, had to wait for the custom screw terminals a long long time (nicely color coded though!) so hopefully that's going to be the next release!

Looks like a great product. Is it possible for the data signal to be TOO strong? Is the receiver board pulling down the signal again? If you ever redo this video, consider updating your catchphrase to farther / than.

Both the sender and and the last board in the chain have a termination plug on them and the RS485 should auto adjust their output power. I've tested with 10cm cables without an issue too. The receiver board it an LED compatible signal again so no worries there. Ah, good point on the English, sadly since this video is up it'll likely stay like this 😅

So I found the theoretical max length of my type of leds for my power supply (with a 20% safety buffer too). But what if I want to double these max lengths or longer? Do I need more power supplies? More controllers too? Or switch to 24v/48v leds? Is there a good video or article about this somewhere, or can you make one? Thanks!!

I'm not fully sure I understand the question. Are you talking in regards to power or data? With this solution data will go 500m at least so I'd say that part is solved. So then, what are you asking? With power?

@@IntermitTech yes with power I guess. I’m using a digquad for the controller/data. But with a 600w power supply (and 20% safety buffer) and my type of leds I can only do 500 lights total or 164 feet in length. Would I need to add another power supply somewhere in the line somewhere to double this length or more? Or what’s the best way to run more lights once you’ve reached the limit of your power supply?

Hmm, I doubt you'll reach power supply limits that quickly, unless you are doing lots and lots of injections. The Dig-Octa can handle more but again, I doubt that is currently the issue unless you've run out of space on the Dig-Quad to do injections or maybe with 5v stuff. But let's discuss on Discord. :)
