Oras has a lot of handholding so definitely an easier game to do hardcore nuzlockes your basically getting healed after every route and team aqua/magma battle no where close to as rough as OG emerald or Platinum lockes no forgiveness back then lol

Caught my very first random, full odds shiny yesterday. It was a Ferroseed in Sparkling Cave in Black 2, literally the very first encounter. I started playing Pokemon when Black and White came out, with Black being my first ever game. I think you can imagine how hyped I was for this Ferroseed.

Like they're still not remotely common iust not absurdly rare like they are normally. It's not really feasible to make videos for most content creators at full odds for shinies while doing a nuzlocke. So you'd never really get videos like this otherwise, or at the very least there would be way way less of them.

Cool video, I found a shiny zigzagoon a couple of weeks back on alpha sapphire while trying to find lotad and ralts to add to my team. it was my second shiny however, my first shiny was a krabby in heartgold. Honestly zigzagoon's shiny is pretty cool since it takes zigzagoon's bland color palette and actually makes him look pretty good. The reason why so many people probably never encountered a shiny is because ALOT of people use repels while i simply don't and battle any pokemon I encounter so I can level them up.

Aron is my favorite Pokémon but I never really cared for its shiny, I recently caught one in Pokémon go and wasn’t going to evolve it but Aggron’s shiny is actually pretty great and teal is my favorite color too so I’ll probably end up evolving that Aron now. In wild battles he has some exp and it is very hard to train to exactly 0 exp (so exact level up) and then use rare candys. However it is possible and i do agree that you make a good point. Nice eye for detail!

Early game there’s nothing. The only thing from this organically is the shiny charm from completing the national dex or Masuda method of breeding two Pokémon of different irl regions. Shiny hunting is something that takes time and dedication but is worth it if you can sit for hours of nothing happening.

Best bet is probably xy, sumo, or oras. Xy has horde battles so 5 encounters at once is huge. It also has fish chaining. Sumo has sos battles and the pokepelago. Oras has the dex nav.

I noticed whenever you’re in a gym battle and when you were in the Elite 4, your pokemons were always on the level cap with 0 experience meaning you’re using rare candies. I noticed it especially when you were in the Elite 4. I’ve been watching Nuzlocke’s lately on KZbin but it seems like you’re the only one doing this. Not sure if it’s against the rules but yeah, just noticed that.

Actually, it’s extremely common, because manually grinding both wastes time and makes you much stronger, because of evs. The best nuzlocker in the world, Pokémon challenges, uses rare candies in his runs, I would go check him out

It’s very common actually, it’s not against the rules because there’s no unfair advantage except you don’t need to spend a bunch of time killing wild Pokémon. Especially on a run where you’re already resetting for shinies for so long, it’s understandable

Gonna double comment just to say, imo, I love the content u and so many other people create, and of course I love shinies, but for your own sake, and for the sake of getting out more content over time, I don’t think hunting shinies legitimately is necessary. The code is out there somewhere on the internet, just pop it in and get the shinies that way lol. I suppose it takes away the mystique and the cool factor of the rarity of shinies, but man, spending all those hours just to do it legit, u must be a sucker for punishment haha.
