Sean always had decent ground game. He showed a little bit of this when he was on the Dana White's contender series awhile back. And he also came from a jiujitsu background. I think people don't really know this about Sean because Sean has not really utilized that skill to fight from the ground. He mostly has done fights straight up.

I'm 5'4 and would love to agree with you and I did do great in both wrestling and grappling but tall guys get alot of leverage and could be in trouble depending on the situation. Tall guy sprawls and his legs are far away. Can also reach and grab a leg easily with length of the reach. I don't think there's any connection between the 2. I've seen short and tall guys do amazing. Way too many other factors involved, including style of wrestling/grappling

His main gym for many years is known for grappling and wrestling... Quintet is fun to watch! Created by famous retired fighter Sakuraba. 5 person teams, a total weight limit for each team. Submission only, warnings if you do not chase submissions. Winner stays to fight next opponent. A draw means both are out. They do semi finals and finals in one event, so four teams at first. not boring if you wrestle/grapple, most times anyway. For most, it is boring though and majority of spectators are practitioners.

O'Malley avoided the match the entire time, Gomi get's frustrated, takes a deep single and get punished with a choke. No honor in Sean's style. Engage or gtfo. He ran the entire just to set up a counter guillotine. I now understand why the old style of Catch Wrestling banned strangle holds in the olden days.

Bruh what? Lmao😂 Sean was collar tied him non stop and kept snatching him down. He was engaging the entire time. Just bc he didn't take a shot doesn't mean he was avoiding either. He kept trying arm drags, snap downs to get to the back

Shows how Sean even at his height makes bantamweight. He’s taller than Gomi but much smaller and Gomi in today’s mma would be a relatively small lightweight. I’m definitely not trying to sound like a hater though, Sean is one of my favorite fighters at the moment. It’s just interesting seeing these two stand side by side.

@@MileyCyrusSwollenGums the UFC doesn’t want to give them any free publicity. The only reason it was done with boxing is because UFC had a chance to grab boxing fans.

@@DivineAtheistWannabe dry it up. Uncle Dana, and moreover the ufc board, will entertain any option that helps them make that 350 or so million quarterly payment. The people with the media control now are.....well, the media. Namely ESPN and CBS. Dana has input but no veto power on that side now. Hes still got the riens on the actual combat side of it but hes an employee. Hell do what hes told. And all respect to uncle dana, im just puttin it in perspective.
