The Mexicano Show that’s a killer for sure. I seriously thought the wings would take Hughes at the time i made this comment but wow the Canucks really got a very good dman. They really have a solid group of young prospects, it’s only a matter of time when they start compete again...Thatcher Demko is also the real deal

I think ppl feel he's not a better overall pick than Dobs and Boqs' due to being under sized and not as skilled with the puck, I like someone saying his game's more like Karlsson's because he's elusive and quick with puck decisions so defenders have problems stripping the puck when he's moving it ata safe angle all the timr, thus makes it look quite dumbed down and not highly skilled, I was thinking that too until I replayed him moving the puck receiving it and his quickness definitely reminds me a lot of not a player but one team's playstyle (Golden Knights / Vegas), there's none of the fancy dangling like rasmus does but I feel he could just about do everything an nhl coach needs him to do in another way and equally well (fact: played tons with dylan and gaudeau? on the US team and seemed to fit right in).

He skates like Rasmus Dahlin, sort of, but he often has to look down at the puck which Rasmus never does. The extreme example of this is Connor McDavid which never ever looks down at the puck .. he is a natural phenomenon. Rasmus has that too .. Quinn does not but he is close .. I think Quinn is underrated. Like Rasmus he is soo much fun to watch. A gem. (he is more like Erik Karlsson than Rasmus)

@@nucksforcup1115 Well safe to say Q is having a better rookie year than Rasmus did. He has been so good on both ends of the rink and has made life easy for Tanev. No more seeing Tanev stuck hemmed in his zone and having to sacrifice his body 20 times a game. 21 Points in 23 games while already breaking up records while not even starting on the 1st unit till game 8. I said it before the draft, 5 years from the draft, he would go 1st in a redraft. Kid is a true #1 elite pmd that has the highest ceiling of any D drafted in years.
@nucksforcup11155 жыл бұрын
brett hughes 21 points in 25 games, bud. Quinn Hughes is an amazing defenseman. You probably won’t find a bigger fan. But that doesn’t mean I’m not a realistic fan at the same time. Rasmus Dahlin is generational. He did all of this at age 18 until the very end of his rookie season (he turned 19 in April of 2018-19). Hughes has been 20 since October. That’s SIGNIFICANT. And with that in mind, Dahlin put up the second best statistical season EVER by a defenseman at the age of 18 behind only Phil Housley (ahead of Bobby Orr btw). He’s taken a slight step back in his overall game perhaps, but not point-production wise. He’s on pace for 55 after 44 last season. Obviously Hughes is having the better year, with a near 70-point pace, that’s absolutely incredible. And at the end of the day, Hughes MIGHT be the better offensive defenseman. But even if that’s true, Rasmus Dahlin’s overall game is something else. You look at his ability to take over a game and it’s just absolutely something special. I believe Hughes is a special talent too, just not to that degree. The 2018 draft wasn’t one like 2017 (Hischier and Patrick to this point being overthrown by Pettersson, Makar and Heiskanen) where the best player of the class was up for grabs. Dahlin’s was more of a McDavid, Matthews, Crosby type of draft. He will 99% be the best player to emerge from it. And hey, that’s totally fine. If Quinn is able to be the best defenseman taken aside from a generational one, I’m not sure anyone’s complaining. Again, Hughes has been fantastic, this is just my opinion and I’m so glad we have him. (Apologies for the novel, just am very interested in elite young D in the game anyways)
