Oh you poor child... Nico and Hughes are both small guys with large potential ceiling, but small current skill in the NHL. Both are fucked with the Devils. Even with Subban (could have potential leadership) but Hall should at the least be stripped of the A. Sadly the devils don’t have the ability to develop these young guys. They just don’t. You place Hughes in Colorado Winnipeg or even a place like Carolina and you’re seeing a future elite pure star... NJ? No. NJ has to stop making trades for guys like Hall and Subban... they work well on established teams, but NJ is a work in progress that needs to invest in the ability to develop prospects. Swap Hall out and place Duchene with Hughes or Nico (Duchene can play wing very well) and you have something... Duchene is kind of like a more experienced and mature Marner- in that he can make players better. Hall? No. Hall is a selfish player who was traded for scraps to NJ because despite being a 50-60 pt average of producer, he’s not a leader, doesn’t make guys better, massive salary and even has been rumored to be locker room toxic
