I love this version; thanks for finding it and posting. "You don't have to tell the neighbors- a little silence ain't no sin... they already think my name is WHEREintheHELLyouBIN???" Brilliant.

I wish I would have heard of him sooner, he passed away a few short months after I first heard his music.

This song, and the album that it came from, seemed to signify a move towards a bluesy rock that Prine's music always implied but never really embraced. Although I would have loved seeeing his music take that turn, it never happened and it didn't matter. Prine remained sublime until his death. Simply no one writing better songs that understood the human condition regardless of genre.

Anybody else getting a Pink Floyd vibe outta this? JP was an excellent writer.

This post gets 20000 views and Adele 4 billion. Enough said about the state of music.

Not knocking Adele, but you speak the truth, sir!! John Prine is a national treasure. I'm truly stunned when a "music connoisseur" wants to talk about songwriters and doesn't know this man. Leaves me gobsmacked everytime.

True, but people will keep finding John Prine’s music long after I’m gone.

Ya know man, I always have wanted to be this. But at the end of each day. I just want to not wake up the next morning Been going on since I was 12 or 13. I just don't have the courage to do it.

My wife and I saw JP in New York recently. Good show until he called the President of the United States an as#$@*e! Was shocked at this low class comment. Sent him a respectful email explaining that, but he wasn’t man enough to respond. DEPLORABLES and people of opposing political opinions ARE NOT WELCOME AT JOHN PRINE CONCERTS!

Damn, this saddens me. I pitched all my Springsteen records because of this kind of crap. Of course Bruce also wrote some dumb ass lyrics (you can't put fuellie heads on a 396) and without the E Street band he kind of sucked. I'll have to forgive John on this.

John was always quite outspoken politically, from his very beginnings. Our President at that time was, indeed, an a$$hole, and John expressed his disfavor. It’s called Freedom of Speech. In addition, all people have always been welcomed at his concerts, as he has many fans worldwide with varying political views.

John Prine wasn't "man enough" to respond?? You are an absolute dumbass.

Even lower class to be offended, yet be welcome here to disparage a treasured artist's manhood. Respectfully submitted.

Just because a man is a good musician or even a great musician doesn't mean 'e's not an a**h**e!
