Hey, I recently stopped smoking weed because I was smoking it all day every day. I still want to smoke, but recreationally. I've been so anxious without it, and I average around 2 and a half to 3 hours of sleep per night. I've started vaping CBD as well as eating CBD gummies to help with the anxiety. It somewhat helps me, but I'm curious to know, do you think I'm going about this the right way? (Day 3 of being sober btw)

@@featherclump4360 I found here the community and Dr F are awesome support I'm really struggling myself and I really know what it's like I'm on my 5th day after smoking for 20 years from morning to night I feel like I can't function without weed but any steps toward quitting is good. I've lots of words of encouragement from people which does help but I'm doing it the hard way by quitting cigarettes and weed so in times of frustration I find it really difficult still .I really do know your pain and looks like we're in this together so if there's anything I can say or answer to help @me good luck on this mammoth journey to a happier weedless life

I had almost 2 weeks of sobriety from weed. I relapsed the night before my period. I smoked it for 6 days until my period was done and now I am on day 3 of sober from weed again. I have NEVER gotten back on the horse again after a relapse so fast. I always go months. This is HUGE for me. I spent more of January sober and that is so BIG man. I don't like January. It's the MONDAY of the months, haha.

I smoked to deal with the toxic things in my life that I had to deal with day by day. Just going to work and hating my job. Hating my weight. Hating being single after my divorce and never dating for 7 years. Hating my ability to pay my bills as I worked my butt off. Smoking thc helped numb the thoughts of my self-hatred. However, once I quit the things, I had all this new time now. To focus on my life. To work on each thing I hated about what was wrong with my life. The main one was the toxic harassing job that paid me so little. Once I achieved that, my self-confidence started to return with bills catching up as well. Plus, I have spare time to focus now on things I enjoy. Those things bring dating opportunities. Now, next would be me trying to focus on my health to lose weight. That's my next goal. But to prevent being overwhelmed and relapse, I needed to handle these things 1 at a time. At 6 months clean, I've only checked off half my list. Like Dr. Frank said this is gonna take a year. But that's a decent amount of new time to figure out how to achieve getting rid of each self hatred things that caused me to want to just numb it away and forget everyday when I returned from that toxic job. Once you gain that time back, you can finally focus on yourself again. But let it happen gradually. You have an entire year or more to figure out new ways of making your life something that you're proud of. Once you're proud of yourself again? Who needs weed to cope. Who needs cigarettes to deal with anxiety. Life's good now, and you will never want to return to that cycle again. You start to realize that cycle only started because of the addiction in the first place. It's time to get your life back and stop listening to the addictive voice in your head.

My main motivation was to get rid of the awful sticky sweats smelling like tobacco. And as soon as I stopped, I noticed immediately next day that I sweat less, and that motivated me to keep going. Went through mild headache for the next 2 days (totally bearable) which made me smile because I could feel my body expelling the poisons I fed it with since I was 16. Now 41, it's time to beat this thing. In day 4 i got flu like symptoms, runny nose and diarrhea 😂 and i thought "motherf..." bring it on!!! i drank a lot of water and powered through. totally worth it. fuck poisoning ourselves. it's time to breathe. 👍🏻

One of the greatest years of my life in terms of learning/growing mentally was 2022. That whole year I would smoke my vape while watching lectures, doing homework/ doing hard tasks at work etc (I'm a computer scientist). It was my first year of smoking vapes so I didn't really think I had a problem. The worst thing that happened is that now, I somehow associate school work/ working hard with needing to smoke because those smoke breaks I took while watching lectures and doing homework actually seemed to help me focus at the time. Now my addiciton voice hits hardest when I'm trying to be productive which is such a shitty scenario for me.

when I went carnivore due to really ill health from years of eating only vegetables and fruit and carbohydrates something else happened besides changing the way I eat. Cravings for alcohol stopped. Cravings for sugar stopped. I just stopped smoking weed and I wasn't sure why, I stopped buying rollies, I started sleeping better and better to the point I would wake up in the morning and actually feel really good. I would bounce into the day. The thought of a cone and sitting on my arse was not what my energy wanted me to do. I finally found my species specific diet, no carbs. Like zero. Lots of protein and lots of fats from animals. Seriously, since being addicted to something and everything since I was 14yo this is a miracle for me. I've done rehabs, jail, prison, detoxes and tried personal will power. None of them were happy times as I craved like a mofo. If you are struggling with addiction then try and knock out all the sugar and carbs and go for the energy source your body actually wants. Fat and Protein. Your body and mind will thank you for it. Its working for me and the only effort that is required is to buy steak, fatty juicy steaks and eat them. It clears your mind like nothing else I've experienced.

Currently off the weed for about a month now due to a pre employment drug test I got, but thinking it will likely be something I stick with as it just seems to make life harder since graduating. I quit weed at the beginning of this year. I hadn’t seen your videos before and I didn’t see them when I decided to quit, but I have a wife and three kids and it was taking up too much of my time. I’d always be worried if I was about to run out, it was costing hundreds of dollars a month, which can go along way when you have three kids. I was tired of being selfish with my actions and my life choices, and I was ready to make a change. I relapsed about a month ago, and I ran into your videos last night, and it stopped me in my literal tracks from going to the store to get another vape. I don’t really have a community right now and when I get some money together I hope that I can start doing your monthly group. I really think having people to communicate with and understand what I’m going through and trying to make this change in my life would be super beneficial. Thank you for what you’re doing and keep it up please and I’ll continue to binge some of these videos to remind myself. I’m clearly doing the right thing.

What about one last ? Like, you make a decision to quit and to celebrate or to reward yourself for quitting you need the last one. And that ends up with another crazy cycle. And you ends up smoking again on regret that you’ve started again. Feeling depressed because you’re again a smoker and smoking on that guilt. Cut to: you want to quit. Feel motivated to quit. And again, you want to reward yourself with another packet for quitting as a last smoke celebration. Cycle goes on… and on…

I mix tobacco in my weed and have been a smoker for over 20 years. I decided to go cold turkey and I have not smoked in 4 months. I still get really bad cravings every single day. Its so hard to not just pack a bowl and sometimes I feel like it does not even matter if I quit or not it won't change anything in my life. Smoking weed is amazing I love it. I loved it since I was 14. Playing video games and smoking weed is my favorite thing to do. The only reason I am quitting is because i'm pushing 40 and I know that it causes cancer, if it didn't I would keep smoking everyday without thinking twice about it. I read in the comments some people are depressed and hate themselves and that's why they smoke. I love my life and made enough money I can already retire. My problem is I LOVE weed. I feel for all of you in here trying to quit, it is so damn hard. In a ideal world I would smoke weed once a month but I know myself I'm a everyday all day kind of smoker and don't have the discipline for that. I have to stay healthy so I can watch my kids grow up.

I’m suddenly feeling high after a couple of days of quitting, looking online it’s quite common so I’ve not had any negative side effects or withdrawals yet. It’s odd because last time I tried I struggled to get through the first few days. I think day 5 is the hardest for most people but so far I’m not feeling that different, no anhedonia, depression or irritability yet. I like the view of focusing on the gains as opposed to quitting.

This is not to put you down at all Simon. But all the times I quita the worst days where the first 5 and would always relapse 5 days later. But this time I’m 19 days in sober. And out of all the 100 times, this time during the first 10 days I had barely, almost none, really nothing as withdrawals. Then around day 15 the hell came. Mainly depression and feeling my body so freaking tense. I’ve cried everyday since day 2, that’s not a side effect; that’s appreciated in my case. But the aforementioned day it’s like those things that always happened to me at the beginning, kicked in and was waiting there like the silent killing bitch she is, and the last 4 days have been hell. Not thinking dog going back though. Weed is not wise, but smart and cunning. It will most certainly attack, when you less think about it. I hope, really hope man I’m wrong and for you this lasts more than it did for me. It’s hard to say this because I’m not feeling it for 5 days, but I know It’s going to get better. Not expecting that happiness I miraculously had is coming back, happiness is something that’s descends and lasts for a while. It was to good to be true, I mean happiness and no withdrawals in the 5 dreadful days? Nah man. I reiterate because I might be many things, but not envious, bitter and/resentful anymore; I wish and pray that I’m wrong and you feel like you describe as long as possible. I just want life, meaning tranquility; peace even for at least a month. Much respect and love. Stay in this path, right now not sure why it’s worth it, but hell; it has to be.

@@legal_action3009 Thanks man. I’m not going to count my chickens yet. Almost 7 days in an no change really, it’s giving me almost a false sense of security at this point. Having a little browse on the web brings me to something called “Pink Cloud Syndrome” where when you first quit an addiction you can feel really good and excited about the road ahead abstaining. Unfortunately in some people it doesn’t last forever and when things get tough after pink clouding that’s when a lot of people relapse. My main problem last time was anger, it’s always been a problem for me since school but weed kind of “cures” it. I get mild depression with it too. Anyway, hoping I’m not just riding the pink cloud and this lasts, my life is better than this time last year in regards to work and relationships, even though I’ve been a daily smoker the last 6 months until now. I wish you all the best on your quitting journey.

@@legal_action3009 Ok so 10 days in and no change. My plan moving forward is for a tolerance break because I love weed and my only issue was how much I was spending really, it used to be a crutch for depression and boredom but as my life has changed dramatically the past 6 months I’m happy even though I’m sober. Everyones situation is different but for me I think I’ll handle moderation easy this time. I read about people that just smoke on the weekend as a treat to get through to working week and the highs are amazing. I remember Dr Frank saying he was not a person that can do moderation, like he’s an all in type of guy. For me personally, as long as I can commit to a weekend smoke I’ve reached my money saving goal because those weekends I will need a very minimal amount of weed to get high and it’s a reward for working on my business all week. It’s a win win, being a daily smoker wasn’t but I felt I would get anxiety or depression not smoking, now I realise that’s not the case I can use weed recreationally and be free of addiction. I think we have to be careful though, if you are on a quitting journey from weed and it’s making your life awful then perhaps spending money on something to enjoy life is worth it, there is nothing wrong with self medication. Imagine taking away anti depressants from someone who is clinically depressed and saying, it’s ok because in a month, 90 days or a year you’ll feel better. We are all individuals and unique and for some of us stuck in active addiction, a complete quit without ever returning to a substance it the only way. For me though, I’m feeling fine sober and I’m pretty sure I can smoke once a week or on a special occasion and keep it as that. I may be wrong and if I am I’ll soon learn by my mistake but I’m pretty sure I am past addiction and can handle moderation after my tolerance break. To everyone that never wants to go back to smoking weed for fear of getting trapped in addiction carrying on you sobriety is the way forward and I encourage that. Everyone has a different journey though.

@@SimonAckerman I will always speak my opinion and my truth; but it's precisely to help you. If I lied and be "soft" let's say then, forget about me, I'll be doing yourself wrong. There's no such thing as moderation and discipline for me. If that strategy works for you, I'd be happily jealous. However, something tells me it's not the first time you try the moderation, reward, caution approach. I've done that and it comes back harder in ways you can't even imagine. I'd advise not to and to withstand the temptation. I have this feeling that the part of you that wrote that, wasn't the wisest in you. You don't to justify your choices to anyone, but rest assured, as someone who has written and thought long manifests regarding strategies to integrate this, I reiterate, I doesn't work. It's like you said, it's dead, and once it is, then you struggle with the pain, however long it takes. You know this deep down by not the previous comment, but the original one and the second one, we are addicts. And as such, moderation (may I add sadly at times) is not and option for us. But this I know to be true, although it hurts staying away from this we "love" so much and added to the fact that life might be boring, tedious, difficult and weed for me was not only my reward, but my only escape. But here lies the truth: I know you'll fall back so it's trap. I'm no saint, no stoic, no man of virtue, but I'd take a life of sober pain over an artificial high all day. I think it's not the correct decision, day 10 by coincidence (which I don't believe in) was mostly always the bloody day I relapsed. Specially when I thought it was dead. I wish you the best with whatever you choose. Really. If you need anything, I'll be here. Specially and pardon the French, if you fuck up, I'll be here. Much love mate.

I started smoking weed pretty consistently on a daily basis since 2004. It was a combination of my peer group as well as things going on in my life and I thought it would be an answer to my anxiety fast forward to 2023 and I got on other drugs and got off those other drugs, but still have not been able to give up cannabis. I even quit nicotine in 2017, but my cannabis consumption increased, and I am really ready to be fully free of all crutches. though I do drink Red Bull when I work because I work at Amazon and I do 12 hour shifts but I only drink Red Bull when I’m on shift to help get me through my physical job. I think that seems reasonable but if anybody else has other opinions I’d love to know them.😁

I quit vaping one year long. Then before a party i tought, wel if i get a vape i at least wont smoke and then i just get rid of the vape the next day. But you guessed it. I was back vaping. It has bin 5 months now and after 5 or 6 failled attempts, i have bin off nicotine for 3 days now. I know its not that long yet. But one thing i know for sure. I will NEVER ever touch a vape cigar or cig ever again in my life. I just got depressed by the feeling that every attempt failed. But now i now exactly why i failed and how to never relapse. A lot of your tips helped me as well. Keep making your videos cause it not only helped me quit vaping but also helped me out of a depression. Thank you sir.

I have been addicted to weed since 2012- although I took a 3 year break in 2020. Im sick of the memory loss. I can’t remember why I went to my car and what I was trying to look for there. I just miss so many details. I’m motivated to get my motivation back. I want to start my online business and move somewhere else.

I would really like to know how come one has no problems quitting so many times during life time but at one point in life all withdrovals possible hits her, em, me. I quite so many times before being for 8 years, a year, a month.. Every time I was feeling I am using too much, I would just quite. But last year when i stopped smoking after months of daily use, still I was fine day 1 and 2, but day 3, oh my... Panic attack in the middle of the street on the way to a meeting, 3 more that day and then the insomnia started and dreams. First time I heard as I googled it, some can have withdrowals from 'just' weed. So i started a 6 days water fast that day, and all went away in two days. I am on keto and used of fasting and IF. Ok, one year later, here I am again quitting after a few month smoking at least once a day, but frenkly last two month was couole of times a day. Another subquestion. My dose was getting smaller and smaller this last period when I smoked. I felt like i need a quoter of my previous dose or it would be just too much for me. I know alcoholics in stage one that can last up to 20 or 30 years, when they enter stage 2, they can drink a glass of wine and start hitting the floor. I read that in one stage, body just cant handle any more alcohol, but with addiction it still becomes a part of their metabolism. What happens with thc since canaboids are also body produced, why would somebody need less or better way of putting it, why micro dosing was all I could handle? Today is my second day sober and it is even worse that last year. First day sweating and today such a migrane and nosia.. But I am taking all the steps lerned last year and waching all good videos about it, so, i will go on. Thanks for the videos and your input. Wishing all good and courage to all stoners out there. Let the force be with us. :)

How do you get through withdrawals doing everyday tasks like work without giving into the temptation of just getting a pack of cigs from the gas station? I struggle with that but I really want to quit but when I go to work, I is extremely hard to fight the urge to work without smoking. And if I do, I have extreme emotions and anxiety that is not particularly good for a workplace environment if that makes sense.

Slowly starting to feel better. Your material on Chs has taught me lots . It affected my whole digestive system in a very scary way. Still experiencing abdominal pain that is starting to get better.been a scary process . I almost felt like I needed a ER visit. My next healing step is to re- nourish my body . No turning back for me- its not worth it anymore. As a User of 20 years . The body keeps the score. Says no more, I’m listening. Ive had so many dr appointment scans ect trying to figure it out. Only day 1 off weed and already feel like absolute shit. Is anyone else here just want to quit weed to pass a pre employment drug test? I find it hard to quit because I don't want to and see no reason why I should have too. I dont care about any of these health benefits so my only reason to quit is to get a job and I'll 100% start smoking again no doubt about it. Only benefit I see or care about is employment, which I feel is also unfair that they have right to turn down employment if I smoked a joint 20+ days ago? But hey I'll hire someone who will come in hungover every Monday that's safer than those horrid stoners for sure!!!
