I remember quite vividly my father telling me the real story. I was blown away. Looking forward to watch the movie esp featuring my two favourite actors! They are genial.

Have always remembered seeing the original film on TV years ago and being blown away about it being a true happening! What lengths we went to during the war. Looking forward to seeing this film.

Ben McIntyre's book is outstanding, a must read. As are his other books. So glad to see this film was made.

No doubt it's an amazing movie. With Colin acting in it and the rest of the cast as well. The theme and everything. I hope it to be released on cinemas here cause I need to watch Colin on big screen. If not I'll watch it on Netflix all the same. Best of luck to you ❤

The older Colin Firth gets the more beautiful he gets.....he is just a beautiful man....no matter what role he plays.....I get the feeling Kelly really loves Colin....is she single....they would make a beautiful couple, tho, it makes me jealous cos I just live him so much, but, I am far too old for him.....❤❤❤

I'm so excited to see this! Read Ben's novel years ago as recommended by Richard and Judy bookclub (never a boring read from them). Also hey, BOTH Mr. Darcy's in the same film! Woo hoo!

The man who never was. 1956. What a story and all true. Life is stranger than fiction sometimes.

John Madden's remake of Operation Mincemeat based on Ben Macintyre’s novel makes for great viewing and is a fake news aficionado’s paradise when it comes to trying to differentiate layer after layer of fact and fiction. Nevertheless, as with many war or espionage thrillers like the Ipcress File it's a shame the film industry is producing yet more remakes. If success is to breed success the film industry must not polish old gems but mine for new ones. In these genres, examples of such new gems include Mick Herron’s Slow Horses from the Slough House stable and Beyond Enkription, the first fact based spy thriller in The Burlington Files series. The celluloid adaptation of Slow Horses looks destined to become an anti-Bond classic. As for The Burlington Files let’s hope the film industry hears of it. Not being a remake this enigmatic and elusive thriller may have eluded you.

I knew the story and the film is rather meticulous. But, I regret that the secret mission was discussed in several little discrete places: corridors, on the street, in the Gargoyle club etc… very hard to believe it happened really like that.

a stinking re-write of a well-done 1950's movie of the same subject!! Hollywood can't leave their hands off a subject without screwing the pooch!!
