It’s not that mad to realise why people are supporting reform from labour really. A lot of us aren’t tied down to left and right we have policies that we like from different parties, I support working class people and would never vote the Tories. Then that little two-tier weasel got in and called us far right for having concerns about our country…we are not ‘far’ anything. We want the best for Britain…and the best for Britain in 2025 is not any of the three main parties.

the only good news that starmer has to enjoy is watching tories and reform eat each other - neither party will be forgiven if the right of centre parties let labour back in for a second term, albeit with lib dems or green propping them up. both parties need to grow up, put their egos back in their pockets, and find common ground

Truss was right about what the economy needs and in terms of policy. What she didn't - and probably couldn't - foresee is the rather blatant actions of the establishment, such as the BoE triggering an economic problem via a massive £40bn bond sale the day before her Budget. And then reversing it after she was gone. At least, it was blatant to those who understand such things, but since that's about 0.0001% of the population these days - almost none of whom are journalists - of course they get away with it. Given her time again, I imagine Truss would go about implementing her policies more carefully. In fact, in any Groundhog Day style re-run, she might even choose to replace Bailey at the BoE, which would be a good idea in so many ways. “Truss rejected Treasury orthodoxy, ousting top Treasury civil servant Tom Scholar to demonstrate her market fundamentalist, libertarian approach. This involved prioritising tax cuts, favouring deregulation and a dramatically reduced role for the state in people’s lives and the economy. Truss and her team envisaged freeing business from “burdomsome” taxes and regulations. She deployed Patrick Minford - leading member of fringe pro-Brexit pressure group Economists for Free Trade - as a key adviser. Minford and Truss asserted that cutting taxes would both stimulate growth and reduce inflation.”
