Some additional information from a long time timeshare owner at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach (purchased our "right to use" timeshare in 2003). The course is truly amazing. It was "in development" for around 12-15 years before it was finally completed. But of course it was touted as a benefit to timeshare ownership as early as 2000, 22 years ago. Things happen here on "Mexican Time". This particular course is supposed to be part of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Collection. As such, when the second course is finally developed and open, this course you played on "is supposed" to go private. But as I said, things happen on Mexico Time here and plans constantly change as well. So this course "may" go private (as was the original plan) or it could remain a benefit to Pueblo Bonito guests. Only time will tell. But the second course "should" be set back a little further from the beach (but still great views). The old lighthouse el Faro Viejo that you see on the 7th hole was the original lighthouse in Cabo. Built in the 19th Century, it is about 114 years old. Not functional, but it has been restored by the creator and owner of the Pueblo Bonito Resort Group, Ernesto Coppel. He is a rags to riches citizen of Mexico (he has done rather well from very humble beginnings). The functioning lighthouse sits further up the mountain and it was built in 1959.

I played there twice and I am agreed it is better than most golf courses in the US. If you want to play in a great golf course in the US, you should try Wolf Creek in Mesquite NV.

Some info on the Pueblo Bonito properties in Cabo (from oldest to newest). Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos (aka Pueblo Bonito Blanco) and Pueblo Bonito Rose sit side by side on Medano Beach (Cabo's main beach) and downtown Cabo is only a short 10-15 minute (very safe) walk from the resorts. Blanco is the oldest of the two. Both were built as timeshare resorts. Next up is Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach which is the spectacular timeshare resort built on the side of the mountain. It is part of the Quivera/Sunset Beach complex and is about a 15 minute drive from town. Pueblo Bonito Pacifica is an adults only "all inclusive" hotel built right on Sunset Beach. The original name of the hotel was Pueblo Bonito Holistic Spa & Retreat (pre golf course) and it was a very zen like atmosphere. They even had a sweat lodge/hut. Next added was the fractional timeshare ownership Montecristo Estates. These sit above the hill behind Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. 3 and 4 bedroom, 2 story, individual homes, each with their own infinity edge swimming pool. These are incredible units. Next was the Novaispania Group of fractional ownership timeshare homes. Built at beach level, these are very high-end homes and are a step above even the Montecristo Estates. The most recent development has been the Condo Towers built back behind some parts of the golf course. There is much more to come, this is a huge property. There are free shuttles to run you all around this property and also an hourly free shuttle that runs over to Rose and Blanco on Medano Beach. Blanco, Rose, & Sunset Beach all offer an All Inclusive Option (but not mandatory). Staying at Montecristo Estates - they also offer the All Inclusive option but you would have to shuttle down the hill to Sunset Beach to enjoy all the variety of the 7 restaurants there. Montecristo Estates only has one restaurant (but it is excellent). Pacifica is mandatory all inclusive but it does feature the ability to utilize all the other restaurants and facilities (pools, etc.) at Blanco, Rose, Sunset Beach, and Montecristo Estates. If you can get the All Inclusive at Blanco, Rose, or Sunset Beach for under $100 per person, per day, then it is a pretty good value for what is offered quality wise. We do it every year at Sunset Beach.

Great video. What a great course. Looks like you have to stay at one of the Pueblo Bonito properties in order to play. We generally stay at the Pedregal but would stay here if they have a nice resort. Is there one you would recommend?

Thanks for watching Scott - it's such a great golf course. I've stayed in Pueblo Bonita Rosa, Blanco, and Pacifica (we haven't stayed at the Sunset Beach but it looks super nice and is right next to the course). The Pacifica is adult's only which sounded cool but was actually kinda quiet and not as fun. I'd suggest Sunset Beach (the views are amazing + close to the course) or Pueblo Blanco.

@@wickedsmartgolf Very much appreciated! We are not fans of all-inclusive resorts because the food and drinks are usually not premium. I think we will give the PB sunset beach a shot and hopefully tee times are easy to come by. Would also like to play Diamanté but it may be a stay to place as well. Have you played that course?

@@scottgiffin9283 yeah I gotta say Sunset Beach has some of the best food - we've stayed at all the resorts. They have a market which is like a premium food court that has everything fresh made to order (mexican, italian, american, etc.) plus a huge bar in the middle. Diamanate is okay - we did a time share presentation there which sucked (said it was going to be 30-40 mins, took nearly 2 hours, very rude... course was okay but Quivira is better IMO)

Nice! We did a timeshare presentation at Diamante a few years ago and played Tiger's course - ton of fun too. I don't think I have enough videos or I'd make a full course review like this one. Which course do you like more - TW or the other one?

@@wickedsmartgolf both great courses but I like Davis Love's The Dunes a lil better as it has holes on the water and better comfort stations. It was rated 38th in the world a few years back but I think it's in the 70s now...

Hey Mike, first time watcher. Considering a trip to Cabo San Lucas in May 2024. Spent 1 week there in 1996 and played the Cabo Real G.C. in San Jose Del Cabo. I'm NOT a morning golfer. Prefer having a good relaxing breakfast, transport to the golf course, a good Practice Session on the Range and Putting Green .... THEN Teeing off at about 12:00 noon or later. QUESTION: Did you rent clubs or take your own? QUESTION²: Planning on taking UBER to get around unless my Resort offers Shuttle Service. Did you take UBER?? AND IN YOUR OPINION was it worth $300.00 for the round of golf and amenities?? Thanks in advance. 😎⛹️‍♀️🚴‍♂️🤸‍♂️

Hey there - I can't say enough good things about this golf course. It's worth every penny... 12pm is a good time, but that's about the latest you'll want to tee off since rounds are a full 5 hours with comfort stations. We shuttled from our resort in Cabo - didn't do Uber anywhere. Get there early as they have a great warm up facility too! Enjoy - you're going to love it
