Octane users 10:09 . Btw I think Quixel should hire you because they make most shitty tutorials and on the other side of the coin, you have the best voice for making tutorials.

Thank you very much! I really appreciate that! I'm going to have to contact them and see if they have any openings for me :). I never thought about it till you mentioned that, but its a really good idea :D! Thank you sir!

Hello :)! Thank you for the comment! So glad you found my tutorial helpful! I actually have a tutorial out on just that! I show how to set up the fern textures to make realistic plants in both Octan's, and the C4D renderer :)! Let me know if you need any more info :)! kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6aoeKKeqN-BepI

Thanks for this tutorial ! Do you know to avoid a bad-looking repetition of Quixels' Surfaces when applied on a large surface (like a wall)? :)
@deanb81915 жыл бұрын
So how did you know to do all of that for the physical renderer? I've noticed the livelink export to C4D does a crappy job, and the results look horrible. Do you still need to manually re-create the textures in C4D, or can you finally export properly from qixel to C4D?

I've tried all kinds of things to get bump and normals to work together and have not gotten it to work. Hoping they'll change it eventually but so far my only way of combining them is to bake the bump map into the normal map with different software, since currently the normal overrides it.
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
Oh ok! That makes sense then! The whole time I was seeing the normal map then, not the bump. That's a shame :(. Thank you very much for that info though! It was confusing me xD!

hello john.. can i use Quixel in corona renderer at c4d?
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thank you for the comment :D! I've never tried using Quixel Megascan assets with Corona in C4D before, but I can't think of any reason that it would not work. The workflow would be different than with Octane, but it should most definitely be possible :).
@rezagholipour26067 жыл бұрын
Thank you man! Because I'm in Iran, I do not have the ability to buy an octane rendering engine and i use Corona for free! If it was possible for you, please make a tutorial for corona and Quixel so we can learn! Thanks again!
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
No problem :)! Corona is a very good render engine, I've used it a little bit, and its performed very well. It's material creation and setup is a good bit different than Octane though. I'm not that experienced with Corona sadly, to create a tutorial for that. If I ever get more advanced with it though, I will definitely make a tutorial to with it a Megascanes :D! Thanks again very much for the comments :). Sorry, I couldn't have been more helpful with Corona. :(.

Hey John Did you make a tutorial about Unreal engine?
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
Hello :D! I don't have any youtube tutorials on Unreal Engine I'm afraid, but I did make a Cinevercity course on how to make Normal maps in Cinema 4D for Unreal engine :). I also show how to import them into Unreal Engine and set up a basic texture :). This all said, it's part of Cineveritys paid course, so it's only for members that are subscribed to cineversity I'm afraid, that said its only $100 a year :). Here is the link if your interested :). www.cineversity.com/vidplaylist/normal_maps_to_unreal_engine

its good basic stuff we all know. but i clicked this link to learn something bout the displacement for 3d rocks in octane :D where is this lesson?
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
Hello :). I'm sorry my tutorial didn't cover a topic that you were looking for. That said if you wish to use displacement with the rock shown in the tutorial, all you have to do, is create a displacement node, place the displacement texture that comes with the rock, and attach that to the displacement node. after you have done that, take the displacement node and plug it into the displacement section of your material. Now you can click on the displacement node, and change its settings till you get more or less displacement going. You can also adjust your level of details to increase the resolution of your displacement map. This all said, I'm currently working on a paid Octane master course, where I will cover every topic you could ever want to learn in Octane render, this includes learning Displacement as well :). Hope this info was helpful, let me know if you have any question :).
@stimpysemiotico68157 жыл бұрын
John Burdock wow hi thank you for the response! :o was just wondering becsuse you also placed the displacement into the node.but you didnt connect it.for flat objects displacemt work great.but with the rocks even wood and trees the disolacemt is working very weird in octane.and i cant find informstion bout the right use for it.you will know what i mean if you tried to implement.even in higher lvl of bit and in tif.its broken :(
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
No problem :). Happy to try and help :). Hmm, what is the strange issue that displacement is giving you with rocks and trees? Is it black outlines on your model when looking at it closely? Or is it jagged edges. Also, are you using displacement on the lod 0-5 version of the model? Or are you using it on the full raw High rez mesh?
@stimpysemiotico68157 жыл бұрын
John Burdock ok you are my hero! i never think bout that. yes indeed! on the lower lod objects the displacement is working.on high lvl i always had black outlines and this weird kind of tumor effect nomatter what amount or mid lvl i used. thank you :)
@EpicJCreations7 жыл бұрын
No problem :D! Glad I could help :). Yep, the high rez model will give you those issues with displacement because it is not designed to have displacement used with it. This is because the high rez model already has the detail that the displacement would make, so it gets a double dose of that detail, and it makes it look very strange. The displacement is meant for the lower level Lod versions so you can give it as much detail as the high rez model :).
