I finished med school two years ago and am now a resident but it’s interesting to see that fourth year is the chillest year for you because where I’m from fourth and fifth year are the toughest and I pretty much had no social life😂💔

NYC studying advice request: I'm currently working full time and taking a medical biochemistry class. I really like to switch up study locations, usually alternating between library, coffee shops, and home. I'm new(er) to the city though and am still trying to find the best "work" spaces. My university has a library but it's tiny and always packed. Do you have (or could you curate) a list of your favorite study spots? Thanks so much!

Lina Olson it would aid in your decision process on whether or not you want to become a doctor and would be good material for your college resume but tbh there's rlly nothing you can do to "increase" your chance of getting into med school before undergrad :)

I agree with Lina! Volunteering at a local hospital will help guide whether or not you truly want to go into the field. I’m a pre-dental student and shadowing/volunteering with doctors definitely help reaffirm my decision. One tip of advice that I do recommend is to look for university that has an affiliation with a medical school. I currently attend a university that has early admissions (typically apply during your senior year of high school or first year of college) to medical school and dental school that you can apply for. If you start volunteering early on it can make you a strong applicant for these types of programs!
