Hi guys! There have been multiple comments and questions on how much medical school costs and how med school students pay for school. I talk about it in detail in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4rdnq2Dr61lgZI

TheStriveToFit Hi, I am new to your channel, and your videos are very helpful. I have a question, what jobs would you recommend while being in medical school? Or would you even consider having a job while in med school? I know that everyone works different, but I would like to get some advice from you. I currently work in the hospital and I have found a passion for the medical field and plan on going into medical school. Thanks and again your videos are awesome thanks so much for all the tips and advice you give!!!! ☺️👩🏼⚕️❤️

Please do a video about finances in Med school everyone skirts around the issue but it's very important! Like how you're moving now? Would we have to take out extra loans for that? It would help some of us who want to live this life but might need a reality check love you girl

Hi Jamie! You are truly a Proverbs 31 lady (saw your mug!! luvvit!) Cant believe it took me this long to get to your channel but previously I never did youtube "medical school note-taking", hahaha. Anyway, God's timing is always perfect. I'm from Singapore & was in an undergraduate medical course for 2 pre-clinical years much like you, and when I went onto 3rd year I had a relapse of my depression and took a gap year before returning to try 3rd year again. Unfortunately, I relapsed about 3 months in and eventually decided to withdraw to focus on recovery. Thanks be to God the last roughly 2 years have been good, and I'm currently preparing for BMAT at the end of the year to apply to Singapore's other medical school & then UK at the same time. Your videos are SO inspiring and are really putting hope in my soul & a huge grin on my face! Because of the familiar terms you mention & the familiar feelings your sharings evoke :) Just wanted to say that you are an amazing person and I have not a sliver of doubt that you are going to be a SUPER SUPER SUPER AMAZING DOCTOR!!!! Keep going & God bless you!

Do you think it is possible to be physically challenged, and go through medical school? This is a serious question, so please no ugly comments.
@TaraAlice7 жыл бұрын
Hey, what physical problem do you have? I have a disability called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and sometimes I get so scared that I won't be able to handle med school, but I honestly think anything is possible so I'm going for it. :)
@StephanieScicli7 жыл бұрын
TaraAlice hey there :) I have had both hips replaced, and have my spine fused. I'm an orthopaedic nightmare, but I can't imagine not going to medical school. I would love to study dermatology, and go to poor countries and help, it's not like I'm planning on being a surgeon. Thank you for taking this seriously :) I know the hunger for knowledge so well. I wish you the best of luck!
@StephanieScicli7 жыл бұрын
What kind of EDS do you have? The one affecting your joints?
@TaraAlice7 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Sicily I'm so sorry! ❤️ I understand how frustrating it is to have a body that basically betrays you. Yes I have the one affecting my joints- so I get injured very easily and am often in pain. But I think as long as you have a healthy mind and determination you can definitely do it!! I actually want to go into surgery 🙈 so I know I'm going to have to strengthen my hands and wrists. But I think that no matter the problem there is always some way around it, like with my hands, my right hand gives me so many problems that I've become almost left handed 🙈so there's always a way! The body is amazing at adapting! Good luck ❤️
@StephanieScicli7 жыл бұрын
TaraAlice, You are a brave soul. Where are you in schooling? I don't know if there is a way to PM people, but it would be neat to have an army of like people. Maybe if you get to Medschool before me you can tell me how it is? And vice versa? I think as long as you have the passion for it, that the sky is the limit. There are doctors with no disabilities and no passion, but here we are, and I think that bodes well for us.

Okay serious question... You might have answered this on a video before but I've been wondering.... Since you're a full time med student and you don't work, how do you pay for everything? Do you work Summer's only? Take out loans specifically for bills? Did you save up or do your parents help you? I'm considering going to medical school but I would rather not work so I can focus on school, I think saving money up would be the best option but I would just like to hear what other people have done to handle there bills! (:
@jitpersaud39897 жыл бұрын
Angel ASMR you have a salary in med school.... you are working and a student
@dreamalittle897 жыл бұрын
Uhhhh no most students I know definitely don't have a salary. Most people take out FAFSA loans (usually ~40,000/ year if they have in state tuition to cover tuition and living expenses). It's scary that you end accumulating a lot of debt and interest but it's very common and in the long run, you'll end up paying it off with your future salary.
@yvonnechueh7 жыл бұрын
lol no you definitely do not get a salary in med school
@doctor_ej7 жыл бұрын
Hey! I'll be posting a video about this next week since I get this question a lot too. We do not get a salary, but we have the option to take out government and private loans to pay for our tuition and living expenses. I'll break it down in more detail next week if you're interested!
