You're almost halfway done! Congrats! That says a lot about the remaining chapters since there's still 97 of them. Also, "Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque" (verse 1) means from Mecca mosque to Masjid Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem. It refers to the night when prophet Muhammad (saw) went on a sacred night journey from Mecca to Al-Aqsa then to Heaven then back to Al-Aqsa and finally Mecca again. That's where he received the command that we should pray 5 times a day. Of course I'm summarizing a whole lot but that's the gist of it. The journey is called "Israa (name of sura) wal-Mi'iraj".

The 1st verse explains how Prophet Muhammad PBUH was on a miraculous night journey from Al masjid Al-Haram to Al masjid Al-Aqsa i.e from the sacred mosque in Makkah to the sacred mosque in Jerusalem. Then from Jerusalem he was taken to the 7 Heavens where he met most of the prophets like Adam, Jesus,John,Moses Abraham etc then with permission of the Almighty Allah, Prophet Muhammad PBUH passed the utmost boundary after the Heavens where no creation can pass but him. Then he was at the presence of Allah but still couldn't see Him but felt Allah's presence. Then was given the revelation of 5 daily prayers which muslims are practicing today. With time you will understand. Stay blessed sister ❤

Hi, Just relating to the last part of verse 15 of Surah 17, where God says 'And never will We punish until We sent a messenger'.. I remember watching a video on KZbin where a Islamic speaker was saying that unless a person is exposed to the true teaching of Islam, they will not be punished for not accepting Islam, rather they will have will a have a test on the Day of Judgement, and depending on how they go on that test they will go to Paradise or Hell. For example, people from say the Amazon rainforest who never been exposed to the true teachings of Islam let alone even the word Islam will not be punished for not accepting Islam because they didn't get a fair shot at it, but I believe people like them will have a seperate test on the Day of Judgement, and where they end up will depend on how they fair on that test. I think the same thing applies to people who don't have the proper capacity to accept Islam such as people who are considerably disabled. But at the same time there is an onus on individuals to search for the truth, so if people don't really search for the true purpose of this life because of laziness or something like that, I am not sure if the same rule applies. All I know is ALLAH is certainly most just and that whatever we end up will most definitely be a just ruling. Anyway ALLAH knows best. I am not a scholar, so I am not sure if what I wrote is entirely correct. So please consult a religious leader or scholar, if you want to know more about this topic as they will probably know more about this topic than me (an average Muslim Joe :)

Assalaam u alaykum sister. 1. The right of Qisas (equal retribution) belongs to the victim or his / her heir if he / she is killed, but they cannot enact it. It must be the government that enacts it. You cannot go out and kill your brother's murderer. You must bring him to court, and the state will punish. But if you decide to forgive entirely, or to take monetary compensation instead, that is your choice. But if you want the killer to be killed, then no court can decide to not give the sentence (assuming of course that it was an intentional murder). But as you said, you cannot go beyond what the other person did. If he for example cut off an arm, but did not kill, the maximum that could be done would be to cut off an arm. If he killed (in a non-gruesome way), he would be killed in a non-gruesome way just like you mentioned. 2. The part about not walking indulgently means not walking with arrogance in your step, like for example an arrogant person would, face upturned and marching with force on the earth to show he is above the others, because "You cannot rip the earth apart by striking it with your feet, nor will you egret be tall as a mountain just by raising your neck high in haughtiness." That is my understanding. I think a modern version of striking the earth with the boots (which might not be so much a thing is when people with big cars do "burnouts" to show people what they have...

Sura Isra (The Night Journey) is also known as Sura Bani Israel (The Children of Israel). It refers in the first Aya to a famous incident in the life of the prophet (pbuh), the night journey (or Al Isra Wal Mairaj), when the angel Gabriel (AS) took the prophet (pbuh) from Makkah to Jerusalem where he met and led all the prophets (AS) in prayer, then he ascended the heavens to meet with God and also saw heaven and hell. The details of this journey are in the Ahadith (collections of the prophet's sayings). It is also alleged that Dante in his description of hell borrowed a lot of the ideas of hell from the descriptions in these Ahadith. It is at this journey that the Muslims were given the 5 daily prayers. Also this Sura addresses the Children of Israel and recounts for them how their prophecies predicted their destruction twice, evidenced by the destruction of the Temple of Solomon twice in history.

About the Killing in verse 33 (except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive)) it means if someone kill for example my son i can kill him for justice or forgive him but i can't kill his son or kill anyone but him because they are innocents before Islam if someone kill the son or relative to a powerful family they kill him and his family and even all of his tribe so Islam said no you can only kill the killer as a just cause or if you want to forgive him but don't kill others

You're starting to understand what striving in the way of Allah SWT means to a believer. It is the struggle a believer goes through to please Allah SWT by living a life that is pleasing to Him and avoiding what is displeasing to Him. By following all the 'do's He has allowed us and abstaining from the 'dont's. The dos can be oversimplified as fulling the rights Allah and the rights mankind has over a believer (and whatever it may be entailed in fulfilling those rights). They are stated quite often and frequently together. E.g. Those who believe, establish prayers (salat) and give charity (zakat) Prayer is one of the fundamental rights of Allah SWT over us and charity is one of the fundamental rights of the poor over us. (In a way, in Islam, the more money you have, the less it is yours alone.) Striving permates through the entire existance of the believers. Some examples would be... The struggle they go through to get up for Fajr prayer though sleep is tempting, to do wudu in the cold without warm water, to give to the needy their share though hoarding money might be more appealing., to treat their parents kindly regardless of how they were to them. Or the struggle they go through to be honest, keeping their temper, abstaining from corruption, usury, adultery, eating up an orphan's inheritane entrusted to them and abstaining from looking at what they are supposed to guard their eyes from etc. You have the Qur'an with you. It's in there. As you've read before and as you'll read in the chapters ahead, the dos and the donts will be elaborated. The examples of implementation is in the seerah and sunnah. A believer may not be able to achieve all of the goals but act of trying- the striving- is appreciated by Allah SWT, The Most Merciful. You know why I'm pointing this out? Because there is a word that defines this struggle of the believer. It's called jihad. It's unfortuante that the name of such a beautiful concept has been sullied by people who don't understand. Let me rephrase my first sentence now. You're starting to understand what Jihad means to a believer. P.S. I hope you understand why I am addressing this now. Because you are starting to see this concept how we, as believers, see it. I have just told you what the terminology for this concept is. It was your own conclusion, after reading the Quran without bias. So I hope if someone misuses the term now, you would know what the truth is.

@@fokrunnessa394 Salam. You honor me with your kind words. May Allah SWT make us people of knowledge and humility. Unfortunately no. The only formal education in Islamic studies I had was uptil 8th grade as part of the school curriculum. However, I've always been interested to learn for the sake of learning. I know of the few that I personally like because of their logical approach to it. It depends on what aspect you want to learn it and what your goals are. Since my goals are to educate myself to become a better Muslim and to be able to effectively answer any questions that people may have of my faith. So for those goals the resources I've found useful are these. -For the Quranic text understanding, I find Bayyinah's lectures very very useful. Omar Suleiman and Nouman Ali Khan are really really good at explaining the language of the Qur'an. The context and the beauty of our scripture. For explaining Islam and the difficult questions that people might have I enjoy the debates of the men from Speaker's Corner. (Mansur, Hamza, Hijab, Hashim, Saboor, Ali etc they are debators) -If I have questions about particular ruling e.g. whats the sunnah of this. What's the ruling of that i think assimalhakeem is the guy's name who I've found to be helpful so far. -To gain fresh prespective, stories of the reverts. Reverts usually do alot more research on Islam than those born in a muslim household so their stories and journeys really make you think. (All these are resources that can be found on youtube for free.) -The most important resource but the most under appriciated one is dua to Allah SWT Himself. Ask Him to guide you to the straight path. To help you find the truth amongst everything. To make you love that which is pleasing to Him and to make you amongst those who He is pleased with. Make dua with every prayer sincerely. Trust me, amonsgt all, this helps the most. Because every single time I have had a question, I've asked Allah SWT to guide me to the truth and sooner than I can believe, I run across something that literally answer my questions. So define goals for yourself. What aspect are you intrested in learning and begin your journey with Bismillah and you'll get your answers. Please don't apologise. I must apologise for once again, writing a thesis. I am incapable of summerizing my thoughts, I fear. If you personally know any good resources do share them. And I hope this helps you.

Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height. it's rebuke expression like why you - a tiny creation - walk in arrogance and treat other people like scum you of course won't tear the earth by your mighty power or stretch in height to reach mountain peaks example for this the presidential motorcade

in minute 23 I think you missed the meaning .. It says that we shouldn't walk arrogant among others as while walking we really can't perforate the earth or we can't be high as the mountains . we are just a small creatures in this world . This is the meaning

@@MilahanPhilosophersCorner Well unless I am mistaken people are punished more in the old testament than the new and the Qur'an is harkening back to that period.

@@enemysub9057 With all due respect, the old testament is more reliable as the word of God than the new testament, since there are question marks about the originality of the new testament. Secondly, you cannot change the word of God because you disagree with the content or it does not match your desires or the content is no longer of this time or for whatever excuse. Gods word can't be changed! Our prophet (peace be upon him) was also asked to change the Quran and this was his answer from God: "And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur'an other than this or change it." Say, [O Muhammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day" And God also Said this about those who change the word of God and writhe the scriptures: "So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allah," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn". In the Quran, God is the One who's Speaking. for example, he Says to his Prophet (peace be upon him): "[O Muhammad], inform My servants that it is I who am the Forgiving, the Merciful". Then God says: "And that it is My punishment which is the painful punishment". This is not a contradictory! God is the Forgiving, the Merciful for those who deserve it, but he can also punish like no other for those who deserve it. His punishment is part of His justice, for "God is Just" and will only give one what he deserves. Amongst the Great Names and Attributes of Allah/God (swt) is Al-Hakam, which means, “The Judge”. Allah (swt) is the Most Just, and He judges the affairs of His beings with full justice. There are several ayaat in the Quran which describe the justice of Allah (swt). Among them are the following: “Surely Allah does not do any injustice to men, but men are unjust to themselves.” (Surah Yunus: 44) “Surely Allah does not do injustice to the weight of an atom, and if it is a good deed He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward.” (Surah Nisa: 40) “And He gives you of all that you ask for. But if you count the favors of Allah, never will you be able to number them. Verily, man is given up to injustice and ingratitude.” (Surah Ibrahim: 34) We understand from the above verses that God is just, and He does not do injustice to mankind. It is men who do injustice to themselves. Not only is God just and fair, but He is so just, that He will not even do the injustice to the weight of an atom. On top of that, Allah will only multiply our good deeds, and will reward us for that. This is how Merciful God is! He gives us ALL that we ask for, and there is no way we could possibly count all of our blessings. It is mankind, who is unjust, and ungrateful to the bounties of Allah. Also God is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, for example, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him ) said, "When Allah created the creatures, He wrote in the Book, which is with Him over His Throne: 'Verily, My Mercy prevailed over My Wrath" [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Another narration says: the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my wrath". It was related by Muslim The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said, “If your sins were to reach to the heavens and then you repented, Allah/God would still accept your repentance.” But we also can not deny that generations have been destroyed in the past and punished people severely by drowning them on the sea, by earthquakes, by flood, a shower of brimstones, by suffering, adversity and plagues like: wholesale death, locusts, lice, frogs and blood. The Quran speaks about it, that is part of history and it has taken place and God has informed His prophet (peace be upon him) about it in the Quran in Surah Yusuf: "We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur'an although you were, before it, among the unaware. The message of God has been sent to all previous generations through various Prophets. Whenever the transgression of a generations exceeded, God destroyed them all because of their iniquities except a few whom he pleased. God sent Prophets after Prophets but there were always a large number of people who ridiculed the signs of God. God tells us in the Quran to reflect upon the stories of the old and to learn a lesson from their fate. The final result of their constant transgression was destruction. When punishment came to these sinners their only last utterance was: "Indeed we did wrong". In the end they did cry for mercy but it was no longer time for being saved. Surat number 7, Al-A'raf, tells us about some of these incidents that has taken place in the world. The whole Surat is logically built up and guides you step by step with information that will make you reflect. In the very beginning of this chapter we are being told that the Quran has been revealed to warn the ones who err and to teach the ones who believe. Further we are being introduced to the story of Adam and Eve in the garden and how Iblis made them disobey God and promised to seduce men and to misled them from the straight way. The consequences of it was that God made the earth a dwelling place for mankind and gave them a respite until the day of Judgment. Another important point in this Surat is in verses 7:38-41. Every time a company of evil people will enter the Fire of hell, they will curse the people who went before. They will blame their evil deeds on the earlier generation and say that they were misled. But their curse will have no effect. Both parties will receive a double penalty. The first generation will get penalty for their own bad sins and for setting up bad example to the next generation. The later generation will get double penalty for their own bad sins and for the failure in learning from the past generation. The Quran is full of historical events taken place in the past, like the story about prophet Noah with his people, peophet Hud with his people, prophet Salih with his people, prophet Lot with his people, propet Shu'aib with his people, prophet Moses with his people etc.

Okay! Quran is in Arabic, it's more beautiful more miraclous more rich in meanings ...God challenged humanity and Arabs in particular to make just one verse like in Quran! that's a good point to know when you read it translated. ....

18:40 you didn't get the point about the killing . The verse is talking about the kisas which is if someone merdered an innocent person the family of the dead person has the right to decide if the killed should be executed or not (in the Court of law of course)

The sign of the night is the moon; Allah said in the Chapter of Israˋ that He "deleted the sign of the night" and delete stands only to what it was "written" (existant) ! So Allah said that the moon was in fire like the sun today and by his wisdom he took off its brightness to create the night (the time of rest), scientists said that the moon was in flames like the sun... in the other hand, Allah made the moon emitting a soft light (reflected from the sun = Nūr: which this word means) at night and for counting the years and months. Alhamdulilah 😊🇩🇿
