Hijab meant for modesty and protection against men of bad desire. But enforcing law to the extend punishing free haired women is an act of transgression, and Allah hate transgressor. “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors." Prayer is meant to be personal. A man or a woman not praying has no detrimental effect on a society. Me not praying isn’t going to affect a women in any way. It’s only going to increase my sins but that’s not the case with not enforcing Hijab or not lowering one’s gaze. It’s like me saying that I can stare at women in an Islamic society and the government has no right to enforce any penalty on me which is ridiculous. The verse 24:30 commands me to lower my gaze first and then 24:31 tells women to lower their gaze and to wear modest clothing. Now if an Islamic society stops enforcing these laws and stops taking action against a woman who doesn’t cover properly and a man who lusts after women then it would lead to disorder and chaos in the society. Because both of these acts are public sins, they’re not private sins like not praying etc. So it’s like comparing apples and oranges.

“I followed the waves of protest and violence in Iran following the death of Mahsa Amini in. The media broadcast that it is because of her badly worn veil. This information is partial, it takes up the rhetoric of opponents of the regime. Anyone who takes an interest in Iran knows that there are millions of "badly veiled" women there. The truth is that she was killed because she is Kurdish and the mullahs' regime is hounding this minority. But the broadcast media don't care. They prefer to support the PKK and say that the evil anti-Kurdish people in the Middle East are the Turks. Moreover, it is clear that most of the demonstrations take place in predominantly Kurdish areas. All the demonstrators killed were in Kurdish towns. But hush it's the veil!" (Davut Paça)

Thank you for this discussion. It is indeed very enlightening. For us in Malaysia, from my viewpoint, the hijab has actually effectively divided the peoples of Malaysia, because it becomes a "holier than thou" badge in a multi-cultural society where we are already different enough in terms of culture, language and skin colour, and so when the Wahabis stated to impact Malaysia in the 90s, and introduced the Hijab quickly proliferating it, firstly because of peer pressure and societal pressure and then only personal conviction, the gulf of separation widened even more, and then of course political parties took advantage of this separation and widened the gap further.

Problem is we muslims are confused between where we have choice and where to use force itself. In my understanding if a muslim leader or khalifa as we call him in islam is legitimately brought into power by proper bayt of the muslims then he has every right to ENFORCE islam in society becoz he himself was chosen by muslims, otherwise if the leader comes by force or corruption then he has no right to enforce islam becoz his own government would be illegitimate. Once a leader legitimately comes into power then he has every right to enforce islam and maintain the writ of the government and sharia, he cannot then sit idle and let people do whatever they want, becoz now he is answerable for those people infront of Allah. An example of this was in the reign of Hazrat Abu bakr who did jihad with muslims who denounced to pay zakat at that time and he was completely justified becoz he was legitimate leader. Muslim population do have a choice in first electing a leader, if they dont want sharia then fair enough dont elect a pious leader and Allah will deal with those muslims in the hereafter, but if u decide to elect a good upstanding leader then u have to follow his rules until his reign, you cannot rebel against him. This is the difference between choice and force in this matter

Nobody is being compelled to be a Muslim or pray, fast, etc. It's just a public dress code, all countries have their own interpretations of what is acceptable wear in public. And head covering rules have existed throughout time in almost every major society.
@hh-hj9fn
@hh-hj9fn 2 жыл бұрын
@@heregoes8839 I understand they hijabs existed throughout time in christian and muslim and jewish cultures. It's clear though the majority of Muslims use the quran or hadith to dictate through religion rules onto others. The problem is the majority doesn't use reason to pass these rules on. Murder is clearly heinous, theft is clearly bad, wearing a hijab is completely uncomparable to the previous two in sin wether you look at the veil verse as metaphorical or physical. A huge problem within the Muslim community is their overzealousness for hadith when theirs an authenticated hadith that monkeys stoned an adultress monkey to death and glorifies stoning and other atrocious acts in al bukhari which contradict the quran in many ways. Muslims get around this by saying well it doesn't contradict the quran because it's not in the quran, well by that logic we could put any number of topics in the hadith that aren't in the quran and lay claim "well its not in the quran so it doesn't contradict it" thus turning people off to Islam and also using a lack of reasoning and pure obedience to a book not sent down by allah but pure allegations made 4 or 5 people away from the Prophet. To kill a woman for not wearing a hijab is something you will 100 percent have to face allah for on the day of judgement, to say otherwise is blind ignorance. I feel sorry for the sunni/shia that have to play mind games on justifying pedophilia and stoning people to death because some guy 200ish years after muhamad laid claim that these words are Verbatim from aisha or Prophet muhammad. It's crazy because if we passed on the quran alone 100% islam would be the dominate religion. Instead the people in control of Islam tell you not to ask questions or use reason to justify atrocious acts even when the quran tells you to do such pure things for your wife and orphans and the needy that even the bible won't even detailed get into to. The quran is such a beautiful piece of text that gets laid to waste by crazy unreliable somehow authenticated hadiths that just turn everyone off to the quran and it's beautiful meaning. Oh how I must understand Allah's frustration with us and his impatience I hope he openes up a new perspective too all of you in your hearts to revert back to the original Islam before all the hadiths. The true Islam quran only. Stop letting imams tell you what's right, use what's inside your heart and throw the perversion out. Context and reason within side the quran is what makes it clear. Hadith makes it perverse and wicked and unclear, thus contradicting the quran in itsself.

@@hh-hj9fn I feel 1000% the same. It is a waste of good souls that we can turn to Islam. Is it not heinous of people who perform Dawah to draw people to Islam just by the good things in the Qur'an? If people knew about all the nonsense haram stuff in Hadith, I doubt they would so willingly join the religion. And then the same preachers tell us to not pick and chose... What the Prophet (PBUH) did, apart from religious worship practices such as prayer, fasting, zakat, performing Haj, was all about manners and mundane aspects of live. Such things naturally change with time and whe should stick to the rather figurative meaning instead of the literal one so that we can keep following the spirit of Islam but in a way that is appropriate for the time that we live in. Don't forget about the people some of whom took a command of the Prophet literally and the others figuratively and he himself told them that they were both correct. Peace

That means that a certain level of modesty SHOULD be mandated and enforced if necessary. Tabarruj is a serious matter and its harm is great and is not limited to the one who commits it, but extends to others, and today's world is the best example of that. In america the law basically arrests you for being too naked in public. In islam being covered doesn't just mean cover your genitals for men the area is between belly button and knees (you won't see lots of men following this tbh I do but I know lots don't) a woman's region is basically her entire body except her hands and feet and some difference of opinion on face but hair is part of it.

@@hamzakhairi4765 Allah created the human (both males AND FEMALES) requiring vitamin D. Vitamin D is crucial to our health, so much so that it is regarded as a hormone. Skin needs to be exposed to the suns ultraviolet light, it is then converted it into vitamin D3. This is the way Allah has designed the human being and what it requires. This evidently exposes the manmade elements of the female dress code, showing only the hands, feet and face. The body could never absorb enough sunlight being covered to that extent.

Which is great and applies to both men and women. I think maybe you are mistaking Iran with the Taliban in Afghanistan or the Saudis. How is it "instilling fear in women" when Iranian women have the rights to vote, work, education, run for office, etc.? One of their vice presidents recently was a woman. 70% of university graduates in the fields of science, tech, engineering and math are women. If Iran wanted to "instill fear in women" none of this would be the case. 3. Iran's modest dress code applies to both men and women. It is not "to instill fear in women particularly." If you claim the police killed Ms. Amini the evidence for this is not very convincing to say the least. Hypothetically, even if there was police brutality/physical abuse involved, this does not mean it was the policy of the govt of Iran. It is unfortunate that the Sharia is used to gain or maintain power by some politicians in Muslim countries. In Brunei, although the Sharia is implemented, it only applies to the normal citizens and not to the Sultan's family. This is why I am sceptical when someone said "Implement the Sharia or you a kafir." It is sad we do not have a Caliph that can set the way for the ummah to have one consistent Sharia. Thats why I believe the main challenges of implementing the Sharia is the fact, we no longer have a caliphate. The Abbasid, Umayyad, Mughal and Ottoman Empire were some of the flourishing empires during their time. They are not perfect, but they set the record straight for what life is like with the Shari'a law practiced.

Hijab is an identity of a Muslim women not just any piece of garb. The west wants Muslims to dress like them, behave like them, conduct business like them, follow their leads on any aspect of social life because they beleive themselves to be the superior. The jealousy, racism, and envy is palpable. Look at India now and compare it to one just 50 years ago. To see the real change, get any 2022 movie and compare it to any 1970s Bollywood movie. They have lost their culture, attire, language, way of living completely at the hands of the west and they now beleive themselves to be the better of all. Any Muslima who conduct or purport such acts as seen during protests, is empty of deen from the heart because modesty is the very basic of womenhood. If there's no more modesty in way of dressing, then that women has only shamed herself on this earth and most of all on the day of judgement in front of ALLAH SWT.

@salman7185
@salman7185 2 жыл бұрын
Salam, In Islam Hijab is wajib, as a father you must try to gradually educate your daughters and wife to wear the Hijab. Forcing Hijab only brings Hijab it in a negative aspect and they will be removing it when you are not around. As a father and a husband your role is to consistently, and kindly remind them of wearing Hijab as you want them and yourself in Jannah , of course it is Allah who puts in their heart the desire for modesty. All that is required from you is attempting your best to your abilities to steer them to modesty (in a sincere and kind manner with reasoning) and Allah will not punish those who strive in his path. May Allah help you brother and Allah knows best of what is in our hearts. and wa salam alaikum!

Do they already dress modestly in a non revealing way? I mean no tight clothing like jeans or the like? A longer dress and a decent top clothing are modest. If they already do this, there's no reason to force them to wear hijab if they really don't want it. What matters is living by the spirit of modesty to the best of one's ability, not following a precise dress code. Worsening your family relationship is unreasonable, don't pay too much attention to what is haram other than major crimes that are also punishable in this world. Try to be as good of a human being as possible, worhsip Allah and seek forgiveness for your shortcomings. Peace.

It makes me sad as an Iranian, that my people are burning their hijabs. I find it quite embarrassing to be honest, but at the same time the oppression that these women face is something we in the west can't understand. We have a lot of freedoms in comparison. Also, to wear hijab shouldn't be forced, it should be a choice for the individual to make that decision. What also upset's me is that none of sunni muslims social media channels or, accounts had remorse for the poor girl. Mahsa Amini comes from a sunni Muslim family, but none of the bigger names in social media even cared. I know for a fact it was because she was Iranian. Rip Mahsa Amini.

the meaning of hijab is preservation of dignity, respect and chastity of a woman; it has a spiritual meaning, not merely symbolism or politics, it doesn't make sense to enforce hijab or force a woman or beat her to wear hijab, it has more to do with spirituality...the hijab in Iran has now become a political instrument, nothing else...

Tq Dr Shabir. Your intelligence had been very balanced. You make Islam feel love. Unlike 'some' people. In my opinion, the powerful use religion to dominate and control weak people. That was the time when all the unnecessary rules were imposed. The people who lived in that century were mostly uneducated and easily influenced by any rules, whether they were true or false. All this has continued until today. Over the centuries humans made this religion sound not friendly.

the proper way is already prescribed but some countries tend to go on the extreme path. religion should be practised in a moderate way not in excess as it is not allowed in islam. enforcing hijab is never the way to go about it nor is enforcing religious acts of worship. these women leave the hijab because it was forced upon them. anything forced upon you by man doesnt sit well with humans. hopefully she is in peace, she was killed without right and fault, shell have peace in the next life inshaallah

It is simple, not all obligatory in islam needed a law especially for things that don't effect others directly. Example: Islam leaders should enforce cutting the hands for stealing before hijab because steal directly impact others. All islam leaders should be smart about it, if your laws cause more harm than good, then maybe you should not have the law in the first place. These purist will only chase women away from islam because of their own foolishness.
