A short video this week - Qusayr 'Amra dates from the 8th century and contains some amazingly well preserved frescoes. As such it is designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The castle no longer exists, but this ancient Turkish bathhouse is stunning!

I was just wondering about the frescoes, i thought muslims were not allowed to depict humans. Was this something the rulers did. Another interesting site. Thank you.

I think the painting of people or animals was frowned upon (although not condemned in the Quran), but because these ones were not meant seen in public, they were more relaxed about the constraints. Thanks so much for watching!
