I lived abroad for 12 years, and whenever I visited Pakistan, 99% of people would ask me the same question. I always used to think it was because of their desire to call or meet me one more time before I would leave again. But then I moved to Pakistan permanently due to problem with my visa. When I told people that I won't be going back due to visa problems, the same people who used to value me suddenly changed for the worse. The same people who felt proud to introduce me in their circle, started avoiding me as soon as they found out about my visa problems. Only then I realized how fake and shallow our society is, and why people used to ask that question. There are 1% gems as well for whom it didn't matter. One such gem was a girl I saw for rishta. She and her family remained just as interested as before but I didn't wanted her to wait on me, while I figured out next career move, so she got married elsewhere. Finally I have found another good job and visa, but won't forget the people who changed nor those who didn't.

know a family (infact very close family member) when a son with his family boarded a flight on the way to Australia and tht very day her mother died n they couldnt contact him as he was in a flight..when reached Australia he got to know this news but couldn't come back immediately to Pakistan and sadly her mother's last words were "mjhe jld dafna dena kisi ka intizar mt krna takay meri tadfeen late hojae" (bury me asap n dont wait for anyone enough to delay my funeral) and these words pierced into my heart n i thought when our parents needs us most we leave them...either stay with them or take them with urself

It has always been a personal choice and right to live, work and move wherever you like. Nothing wrong with any choice you make. Different destinations have different paths, so no one actually is right or wrong. Overall idea is to have good intention with whatever you do and wherever you live. Best thing while living in Aus is you do not have to answer personal questions, you get your own personal space.

I am a Pakistani with Australian citizenship but due to some personal circumstances, i have been staying in karachi for more than an year now. I am suffering from a similar situation. Everyone asking me k Australia kab jao gay, Wapis janay ka irada nahi hay kia, Karachi ziada hi pasand aa gia hay kia and blah blah lol. Sometimes it literally irritates. Some people comment as far as k Chu*** bana raha hay iski koi citizenship nahi hui or yahan permanent aa gia hay haha.

Good thing is that you have Aus passport, you can return anytime you want and start a new life. Quitaba should have done that. Just abandoning everything without a solid plan is not a good strategy.

I have noticed one thing about these international students .. actually a huge difference between these international students who go to Australia for studies and the ones who go to Great Britain for the studies … The ones who go to Australia brag a lot like “bahar MULK bahar MULK” and they try their hardest to just prove that all their life … like ke hum to “bahar MULK” mein rehte Hain and all that” But the ones who go to England .. Uk.. Great Britain … (all same by the way lol) they stay grounded … they dont act stupidly like bahar mulk bahar mulk… Even though the history … the level of standard .. the geographical position … the class is way miles different in uk and Australia (UK IS UK BY THE WAY) is huge but still why these international students Australia ko koi top samajhte hain… my only advice to these lads is DO VISIT ENGLAND LOL YOU WILL REALISE WHY ENGLAND / UK / BRITAIN IS CALLED GREAT BRITAIN! I don’t know how to put this thing up but these guys in Australia go mental! When Australia is nothing hut an isolated dry hot land which is only famous for its beaches lol

Bhai mere Fsc me 50% marks hai aur IELTS me overall 6.5. And mera melbourne k apeiro institute me diploma of business and leadership me admission ho chuka hau. Aur mene 13 march ko visa ke lye bhi apply kar dya hai. Aj kal ye batain chal rahe hain k diploma walo ka visa reject ho raha. Aur mere tamam documents bhi original he. I don't know PR rules of Australia but the US doesn't allow GC holders to live outside of the US for more than 6 months. If you are US citizen, there is no barrier. Does Australia allow PR holder to live abroad indefinitely ? If not, then I assume you are an AUS citizen.

Not more than 5 years otherwise you have to apply for a resident return visa...

@@saar853 Thabks for your reply. So the person can still apply for Australian citizenship while he is living in abroad less than 5 years ? US doesn’t even let you apply for citizenship if you spend more than 2 and half years abroad. No wonder Quitaba is enjoying both worlds!

@@rohanjadhav2077 Welcome. One must spent 4 years in Australia before applying for the citizenship and no more than 12 months spent outside of Australia in total out of those 4 years.

Qutaiba doesn't have a PR, he must be on a bridging visa which one can get after finishing his studies. If he wanted to stay in Australia, he had to enroll in another course. IMO, he made the right choice of returning back which I did as well...

The US also have similar mechanism after studies called as Optional practical training after which the person needs to get H1 or other work visa or enroll in another university to remain in the US. So can he or you go back to Australia? I was talking about Aus citizenship because being Aus citizen one can go back to Aus easily when/if wanted without any immigration hassle. That's what people here in US do.

Aslam o alaikum Qutaiba bhai, Bhai jab mai immigration visa ka wait kr raha tha tu pura mohala puchta tha kay kab US ja rahay ho pata nhi jaisay inki roti kha raha hun. Jab US chala gaya Alhumdulillah tu phir puchtay hain Pakistan kab a rahay ho. Jab last year Pakistan visit kia phir pucha wapis US kab ja rahay ho. Bhai in logo ko kisi halat mai sakoon nhi hain.
