Always blown away by the kokoroko sound.. never heard afrojazz with such rich atmosphere
@gurusawa6517 Жыл бұрын
I totally relate. The genre is called Afrobeat, not "afrobeats" but Afrobeat. It's originator is Fela Kuti, a legendary classically trained Nigerian artist known as the father of Afrobeat. Kokoroko's sound is somewhat a modernized and re-imagined version of Fela Kuti's sound. Hence, I say the genre is Afrobeat.
@macnsteez3938 Жыл бұрын
@@gurusawa6517 oh yea its afrobeat, there's a clear inspiration from fela but the production and some of the jazz melodies felt modern enough for me to call it afrojazz. Whatever you call it, it's beautiful music
@Divinatonio11 ай бұрын
it's still jazz, afrobeat is literally a mixture of jazz, funk, highlife and a bit of fuji elements
