Everybody talks about how one band has more talent than another, or how one writes better and more original music but these days, bands like Kokoroko, a group of people who seem effortless in the way they play, and really just look like they're enjoying each other's musicianship - that's the highest musical achievement for me.

Reminds me of earlier times, Like 1930s/40s Jazz Era Clarinetist Artie Shaw: "Everybody Played an Instrument... or else they carried guns" 1960s/early 70s-- EVERYBODY played in a Band -- Music was Everywhere!!! Great musicians & jam sessions! (Today's Synthesizer $hit ain't music)
@RayasNegroOvejas3 жыл бұрын
@@TD-np6ze always this dogmatic way of seeing things. couldn't this keyboard be used as a synth? and he could still play jazz, I would probably like it, and not care whether it was "music" or not.
@TD-np6ze3 жыл бұрын
@@RayasNegroOvejas In late 70's, Stevie Wonder innovations used keyboard as entire band - he was probably one of few genius talents that could pull it off? But after a few years, his music became stale.... The 80s Synth-Pop was fun at first, but lacking talent or innovation. So, IMO, there's NOTHING BEATS like a Real Rhythm Section!! Ever listened to Marcus Miller Band? Jazz Bass Guitar -- Incredible!!!

I see people on the comments talking about talent, but i dont see only talent here. What they have is called harmony, and its something almost like magic. Of course they have talent to play their instruments but you can hear how they enjoy playing together. Everyone's doing their part but they wouldnt sound like this if it wasnt for their cooperation. It's beautiful seeing(and listening) to these people who are clearly just vibing with their sounds. Its so beautiful. I love it.

Enjoyed the ultra modern direction the band took while still acknowledging the core tradition. So glad the trumpet player finally stepped out and blew some seriously fresh solo stuff.
