Came back a year later! I’m still mowing lawns and still would like a chute blocker. I’m probably going to buy the block that fully opens and the handle hugs the deck and swap out the hard plastic with metal that I’ve fabricated myself.

I just bought an Advance Chute Blocker and I agree 100% with your assessment. I was mowing along a board fence and because the blocker didn't go straight up, it caught a fence post and bent everything, the handle, mounting bracket, blocker. There isn't a straight piece on there. I'm going to have to spend some time trying to straighten everything. $245.00 worth of bent up steel. I only had it for a week. That's what not paying close attention cost me.

I have the quickchute and love it. I’m about to buy another for my new mower. I have not had any issues with the plastic. I did break a bolt that holds a spring on the chute,out of warranty but 15 bucks.

I like my Quikchute because it will release what's under the mower and not jam up the blades. I also like the plastic that will break and can be replaced and not metal that will damage other components when you run into something. That plastic can be replaced with a 10ga steel plate and I will fabricate one if mine is ever damaged just to give it a try.

So quick chute is better but advance is cheaper. I run quick chute now. I have had them all grass flap, advanced, power chute and I like the quick chute best

I know what Ballard says They say they designed it. But they didn't All they do is sell rebranded stuff. The advance shoot blocker is made by bad boy mowers.

Made by an inventor featured it at GIE then before you know it Ballard has it. The Darwin grip nothing new, that thing or a version of it has been out since the '90s. I honestly have not seen anything that he is designed himself. Although I did see had a quickchute handle with a metal plate. So I'm going to go look at quickchute website and see what they got

Wrong. You can adjust the Qwikchute handle to be suitable for a sit down mower as well. The best chute blocker for a stand on is definitely a grassflap

Wrong. I hated my grass flap it lasted a year. I don’t want to deal with the cables they wear to quickly. It’s crazy that there are so many options for this problem and having a hard time finding something that works great.
