I love her. I saw the performance of "Livet är en schlager" 10 times and she was incredible in all the shows. Focused. And this tone-controll! A fantastic singer and an fantastic person. I love her because she hugged my stepmother after she sang at the funeral of my beloved Hans who passed away may 2014. She is fantastic, as a person, first , and specially as a singer . No they didn't. Authors are: Fredrik Lars Kempe and Jonas Lars Holger Gardell. But it's true until ABBA reactivation Helen was (and still is?) prefered singer of B&B songs.

Title means "If not You". But this line expands to full version that should be translated as "If You're not alive, I don't want to live either" So entire song is about being together now and then. In the middle of the song singer goes to heaven to look for missing friend. God is surprised with unexpected visit but finally opens heaven's gate not willing to separate friends any longer. Song ends with reassuring statements "One for all, all for one" and "If not You them me not either" This song while not made on purpose for the task is used here at LGBT meeting to express the idea it's useless to contest the reason people are bond together as what counts is the will to stay united no matter what happens.

Linnea: after reading the lyrics below from Daniel I have a question. Having seen several other songs/performances by Helen I've noticed several quite Religious in content. Do you know does she prefer to perform those type of songs over the other styles she has done in here life. What an amazing person. I try to use the word 'perform ' rather than just 'sing' when referring to Helen. Because she seems to BECOME the person in the song....it FEELS to me like an intensely Real 'Mask' she somehow creates. Simply Magic ....well not simply of course...I often wonder just how she does IT. Perhaps she wonders at times too? I note quite often as a song/performance ends....and this 'Mask' drops away to reveal a more ....?..real....or ....normal?...look or expression. It is almost like she stops and comes out off a trance or Some Special Space....maybe thinking "Wow ...what just happened?" That for me is the emotional magic of Helen Sjöholm. Brogan, all I know is that most of the songs with religious content are from musicals or theatreplays. Kristina believed in God, and therefore a lot of the songs from Duvemåla had a religious content. When it comes to Livet är en Schlager, the musical which this song comes from, the author of the show is quite religious himself, (Jonas Gardell) and therefore the connections to christianity and God in the lyrics. However, I don't think Helen has a very strong religious belief, she has just portrayed women who is religious in some way or another. I absolutely agree with you about how she become the person, no matter what she sings about! It's stunning and truly incredible. I know that often when she gets a new song she usually begins with the emotions and what the song is truly about. In several interviews with her she has said that she tries to collect different images of the song in her head, and then the emotions and feelings come naturally afterwards. It's truly like you said, how she comes out of a trance or something like that, and I think it's when she "gets out of character", if you know what I mean? It's like for every song she performs, there's a true person behind it, and when she is done there is for like two seconds a pause when she leave the role she just sang and become herself again. No problem on your response time. Very nice to know your thoughts. Seems like we both have picked up on little details of Helen's performances. The connect emotionally idea is just so true. As I am sure you have noticed there are many comments that say the same thing about her feelings on her face, how one can understand the emotional content of the song without knowing the language. I found Helen thru Gabriella's Sång and still am in awe of her performance. The little expressions she brings are just so so moving and perfect for that character, the glance at husband and the slight smile towards the end. Was that the director or did she create that? Now that I am learning more about Helen and the Kristina backstory I am guessing it is Helen herself bringing this power/passion to that role. I am bringing my Mom to 3 concerts at the quarry, Dalhalla. Here quote from Helen- " …where she finds inspiration: - I’m an observer and I like to watch people and can easily feel their… aura, I was close to say. I see people fall in love or so. I easily feel human emotions. Sometimes it’s a hassle, but it’s also a formidable asset."
