Nihon-odori is the first Western-style street in Japan, completed by the design of R. H. Blanton in around 1893.
Heavy historic buildings such as the Kanagawa Prefectural Government,
the Yokohama Opening of the Port Museum, the Yokohama District Court, Mitsui & Co. Yokohama Building, the former Kanto Finance Bureau, etc. stand in a row.
Many foreigners moved to Yokohama when Yokohama Port opened in 1859 about 150 years ago from now. In particular, Chinese traders lived in the area of the current Chinatown, and since the end of the war the Chinese restaurant has flourished and has developed as a "Chinatown". Today, it has become a staple tourist destination full of popular gourmet spots, and there are over 500 stores in the area.

This building is Yokohama City Port Opening Memorial Hall. In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the port opening of Yokohama, it was founded in 1917 by the donation of citizens.It is a stylish building.
