That baby was so brave but I know he was terrified, bless his heart. I cried too because not only does my heart break for these victim families, I have 1 of my 3 daughters in a abusive relationship and I keep telling my daughter that he's going to end up killing her. I was once with someone very much like her significant other and know the playbook very well. I narrowly escaped with my life with their biological dad who kidnapped me at gunpoint and beat on me and pushed me around for several hours. I don't know what made him let me go, I tried to be calm and bring up that if I didn't go pick up the girls from my mom's house, she would be calling the police.

As a little boy, I remember my mother being beaten by her bf at the time. I was young and could not do anything to help. I have this image of her in the bathtub and someone coming to get me as she was rushed to the hospital. I think God that that man never returned to the house but it also changed me, turning me into a young man that would protect my mother from any man.. sad story is my mother sent me away to Child Protected services after an argument with another one of her bf. I felt as I was not loved for what I saw and who I was, the support system failed me. Today, my wife, knowing my life story stays that I should write a book... However for me, I always see the other side, I know that there are kids that have had it worse.. Like that little boy that did not have the strength to try to save his mother...
