I wish the entire soundtrack could be uploaded in stereo; it's absolutely phenomenal. The fact they couldn't even get it in stereo for the PS3 remaster is irritating.

It is, it's a shame that they're abjectly ports and not remasters, otherwise they would have done that. Here's hoping for the Crash Remasters, though!
@CrystalFissure8 жыл бұрын
KBABZ True yeah, a port is less of a change than a remaster, although a PS3 game being in mono for the music is so behind on the times; surely David has completed files that they could have used. Josh Mancell also told one of my friends that he's not working on the Crash soundtrack, by the way. Very disappointing.
@KBABZ8 жыл бұрын
That sucks, do they even care about it over there?? Also, bet you didn't notice that R&C1-HD also didn't have DualShock just like the original!

So you're saying that the Beta had stereo music before they converted it down to mono for the retail release..? This is revolutionary.

Hello, I run a project attempting to preserve game OSTs. I was wondering how you got the sources for these things. I went to his website, and I find no download links. And for the ones you say you got off the demo disc, what program was used to rip the audio from them?

Late reply, but apparently these song rips were from a beta version of the game.

David Bergeaud also used to host a few stereo tracks on his website. You can still find them on his soundcloud and probably through the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine though they were hosted as .swf files so they may be a bit of a pain to get playing in a modern browser.

If Insomniac were to make a faithful remake of the original game, they should use the stereo versions of the songs. Or, make a remastered version of them that still has the same vibes.

I really hope someday someone makes an iso patch or a mod for the game. Or better yet maybe the developers at OpenGOAL could port ratchet onto PC one day with this remastered soundtrack in mind along with Upscaling and more mod compatibility.

I've been trying to learn how to mod the Ratchet & Clank games, mainly to fix the Greatest Hits Korean Ratchet noises issue in 2, but I've had no luck. If I were able to learn, I'd love to do a stereo mod for R&C 1 as well but idk what programs to use to modify the files on disc

Ratchet and clank 2 and 3 were bigger than 1(at least for the PS3 hd versions) and had stereo, so I'm not sure why they cut it
@VenomRaven2 жыл бұрын
Just a guess but I wonder if someone thought the stereo mixes wouldn't come across well on TV speakers. Its easy to hear stereo elements on headphones, but most TV speakers at the time were pretty lousy. Im imagining it was done retroactively because it was clearly not the artist's intent.
@pacificgull73742 жыл бұрын
Probably some sorta "hey dude you're using really expensive equipment to produce and demo your tracks, your average 2001 CRT ain't gonna have stereo at all so just make it mono" oversight by a dev or publisher or combination of the two
