Anakin was made to a 9 year old to show how innocent and pure he actually was. He was just old enough to have a hard time letting go of things, like the people he loves. Padmé was never a mother figure to Anakin. She was his friend. If Anakin was older, we wouldn’t be able to see the more innocent and child side that’s corrupted by years of neglect by the Jedi order and war. We also wouldn’t get a good idea why he acts so childish and why he doesn’t have a full grasp on his emotions. Anakin by Episode II may be 20 but he still has the same emotional state and troubles of letting go that the innocent slave boy on Tatooine had. Also, Padmé’s death from heartbreak makes sense when you consider that 1. She had up to this point witnessed the fall of the Jedi order, the death of democracy, and the rise of a dictatorship for her kids to grow up too. 2. She’s pregnant and therefore is more vulnerable to stress. Also this is just a theory, it is possible that how Darth Plaugis’s cheating death magic worked was by taking the life of something else. Most likely while Anakin was dying on the operating table, with the help of the Emperor he was able to cheat death and use the life force of Padmé to save his life. Padmé died so Darth Vader could be born. It would make sense since Sidious tells Vader that he killed her in his anger and he has never fully lied to Anakin before then. Anyways Star Wars rant over. Great video.

Regarding the CallMeCarlson bullshit controversy, aside indeed the small age gap and that they had met before he was 18, calling him a "p" because she was 17 is as ridiculous as getting a ticket and called reckless criminal because you were caught speeding 1 mph higher than the max allowed.
