I upgraded from the Rodecaster Pro to the Rodecaster pro 2 and the upgrade is amazing. I am keeping them both but personally using the Rodecaster Pro 2 while passing the original Rodecaster on to a new hire. Both units create professional audio. I just like the additional features in the Pro 2.

@@EnvergadoGames I use an SD card all the time and then use transfer mode to store my recordings to my hard drive. I use a 256 SD card and never come anywhere close to running out of space.

It seems a great machine, very appealing. I would like to use it as a standalone recorder, but I can’t find out if it has a click track and whether overdubs are possible. For instance: can you record your guitar, and then vocals while listening to the guitar track we just recorded?

Is there any additional safety device (in software) to prevent accidentally stopping a recording? The physical button to pause/ stop recording is rather exposed, no? Some kind of a physical latch over it would have been nice. Otherwise a very promising update. Can‘t wait to try it.

Please update the RCP2 so that you can select the analog inputs as a channel in Windows. The step with routing the analog outputs was amazing. Now all that's missing is that the inputs can be selected in Windows. Then it's an absolute game changer 💪💪. I Love the RCP2

Unable to drag .mp3 or .wav files to Pads on a Mac. I think the problem is with Rode Central in Pad transfer mode. Pad storage on the Rodecaster is mounted as a No Name disk. Trouble is, RC won’t send files to it. Any suggestions?

Good morning. I often use the rodecaster pro II for doing live broadcasts outside the radio and studios. But it may not remember the date and time if it is not connected to the internet. This causes me severe discomfort when I record or when I save some setup. But wouldn't it be possible to update the time via the pc's usb or keep it in memory? Is it possible that a €740 instrument does not store the date and time? Would it then be possible to implement pre-listening also on the second channel of the headphones? if there are two of you in the direction, only one can use the pre-listening. Sorry for my English. I am Italian

I would like to have the smart pad pages easily reordered. So that I can make page 3 of the smart pads moved to make it page 1 or page 2. So that I don't have to delete each sound and re-upload them; just to move and/or group them to a different page

What do we need to set in Windows Sound Settings? I’m talking about Default and Default Communications. I’m also still getting noise in OBS even though I setup the onboard processing/noise gate. The meter on the device itself shows the audio is getting blocked by the noise gate though.

Hey there, the ideal Windows sound settings will depend on what you're trying to do. On the issue of the noise gate, it's worth knowing that the range knob affects the amount that the noise is reduced by. If it's turned all the way down, the noise will be reduced completely, and if it's halfway it will only be reduced by some. @@rodemic Thanks. The Range definitely did help remove the background noise in OBS. Not much info on the window sound settings though. I know for the GoXLR, you have to set the System to default and Chat to default communications in the playback, and in recording the chat mic was both default/communication. Was wondering if it was the same for Rode.

Anyone have a description of exactly what adjusting the three selections of Depth, Sparkle and Punch really do. Obviously these adjustment with a preset are for non audio folks, but what do these three actually control in terms of settings ?

It’s a secret 😉 But they actually control, at a top level, the advanced processing features. So in theory you could recreate each of these presets by tweaking the processors to add more of the vocal qualities you like.

@@rodemic Thank you RODE, This is helpful...................Using the ‘REC’ Button to Start Recording in Your DAW....It is possible to use MIDI to control your DAW from the RØDECaster Pro II. For example, you can map the ‘REC’ button to the record function in your DAW, so you can start your DAW recording directly from your unit. How you do this will depend on your DAW. By default, the ‘REC’ button sends the MIDI CC#17 on MIDI channel 1 with a value of 1 for ‘On’, and 0 for ‘Off’. If your DAW supports MIDI control, you can map this value to the record function on your DAW via the ‘RØDECaster Pro MIDI’ device that is available on USB 1............................. What is a show and what settings are saved? Everytime I reboot my RCPII my mic settings revert to out of the box and I get lousy audio and I'm apparantly too stupid to check it before I go live. I've reset my my channel 1 settings more times than I can count. How do I save them so my default settings are there when I turn the thing on? I haven't seen a single video or Doc that explains what is a show? What does it do? How to save defaults? I think most of know how to plug in an XLR Cable. We need some info on what is the logic behind this thing.

Just bought RCP II, had original RCP. My apps: Rode Central ask to be connected to RCP, it is, won't recognize it. Also Rode connect shows pads with different sounds than the actual pads. Then there is the RCP app, probably from the old RCP, shows no info, assuming we don't need it. thinking just going back to the original RCP.

Hey there @ArmandoOliveira2008 - no stupid questions here 😎 we're all at different points on our audio mastery journey. You can use speakers if you want, but they aren't needed. You can just use headphones if you'd like. If you're on our latest beta firmware, you can connect the PodMic USB, NT-USB+, NT-USB Mini, VideoMic NTG, VideoMic GO II, XCM-50 and XDM-100 to your RØDECaster. I miss the routing function of the analog outputs. With that I could finally connect my PS5 to the Rodecaster Pro. It's a shame that the PS5 doesn't accept the Rodecaster Pro 2 as a Bluetooth audio device. then you wouldn't need a cable for the Ps5 but you could simply regulate the chat party via BT.🤯. For streamers playing consoles, this would be next-gen audio

Hey there! The RØDECaster Pro II can record in 3 ways- to a MicroSD card, to an external hard drive, or to a computer through USB. The internal storage is for the SMART Pads and other user data- it wouldn't be enough for multitrack recordings. Hey Shivam, depending on the speaker setup, if you already have speakers connected to the monitor outputs, you could potentially output one of the headphone jacks to the woofer. Alternatively, if using the monitor outputs, ensure the cables being used are balanced.

It’s to reduce phasing. If you have two mics near each other and they’re out of phase (one will probably sound thin and weird) then you can press that button to fix it. 👍
