I absolutely love my RCP2, the only issue I have with it that is keeping it from being my single audio recording device is the rather high ASIO latency. It gets upwards of 30ms with plugins running and 5 without any plug-ins at the lowest Buffer Length. I hope this can be resolved at a later date.

Great video! Glad to learn it supports stereo link, so we can apply the pitch shifter effect to a stereo input for changing the key of music for karaoke/Performance tracks. Just wish it had digital audio I/O such as S/PDIF, for linking to televisions, effects processors, digital speakers etc.

The current beta firmware has actually fixed quite a few of these issues in terms of audio routing and mix/minus. I am sure it's going to get even better than what this beta firmware has solved.

I currently use mine for streaming. I have an Xbox Series X going to an AverMedia2plus capture device. From there, I used a 3.5mm-to-stereo cord going into the RCP2 for stereo game sound. I have a rode pod mic going into channel 1. I grabbed Shure headset for monitoring. With the audio routing introduced in the latest beta firmware, I'm able to have a separate output of game, mic, chat, and even use bluetooth to add music to my stream and can control all of it with the RCP2 faders. I have my game vol set to the main USB1, my mic and discord chat go to the Chat channel, and my desktop/Bluetooth sounds go to USB2 (Secondary). The smart pads work great, though I still haven't played around with any of the MIDI settings in hopes of using them to trigger actions in OBS. The only feature that I'd like to have added thus far is the ability to increase/decrease the levels of a sound on the smart pads w/o having to export them, adjust, and re-import them. Hello, Thank you so much for this interesting video as i have just one problem, which is that i bought the RODE PODCASTER PRO II and i would like to connect it with my iphone ans with my ipad as well so i connected my iphone via BLUETOOTH and i wanted to connect my ipad throught the USB-C since there should be only one device connected via bluetooth and then i found out there's a cable called RODE SC15 but the problem is that it's reallyyyyy short so is there another alternative? and by the way i bought a normal USB-C cable to lightening and it didn't workout so what shall i do, waiting for your reply, Thank you for your interest.

Even though the mic is hitting unity on the fader, The audio level I get on USB is really low, around -18db Is this expected? It have to post edit an apply 10+db of gain to normalize Is there a way to bump the digital values output from Roadcaster pro ii?

@@rodemic thanks. I switched off all processing (track + master) before posting 🌹 Nonetheless, the answer to the low sounding output is : yes it’s intentional. Reason leading me to the conclusion: if I change the metering on road-caster to broadcast I can see the intent at the unity gain point is 15dBFS. This matches what I see in the DAW ❤️ It just threw me off as the audio I hear in monitoring is much louder than what I see recorded 🙃

How many digital channels does the Rodecaster Pro 2 have? I would really like to bring this into my setup but I feel that there are not enough digital channels to replace my Goxlr which has separate output channels for System, Game, Music and Chat. Would be awesome to see submixes implemented in a future firmware update. It would greatly increase the RCPII´s abillities as a stand alone audio device, giving it one of the only features its missing, and rendering something like the beacn mix create redundent when used in conjunction with the Rcp2 (the ability to add different programs like spotify and discord to one of the faders on the device would further add on to the devices independence of other hardware).

I plan to bring my PC1 front and rear sound cards into the RCP II via 1/8”-1/4” TRS cables into combo jacks 3-4. Would it be best to set the channels up as Line in? A question for a future scenario is, can you safely connect to the RCP II using the Line Out port from an amplifier, To take advantage of effects pedals and the uniqueness each amplifier brings to a sound chain? I have blown a pc sound card when i was a kid thinking line out and line in are compatible 100%

Hey there, for computer sound cards, it depends, but we'd recommend trying both Line and Instrument, to see what's best and yes, you can technically feed a line-out from an amplifier into the mic channel (as long as it's set to Line).

Hi, is the RCP2 compatible with the 3dio binaural microphone? As in, panning one mic input all the way to the left and panning the 2nd mic input all the way to the right for a stereo binaural record.

Hey there- not quite sure exactly what the requirements of this mic would be, but you can pan channels fully to the left and right using the panning effect, and they will be in sync, so it should work!

so im currently running a 2 pc set up for game streaming both on windows computers, i use a goxlr interface to control my stream effects and to also receive audio from my gaming pc but in between streams i would love to sing live using my DAW which is on a mid 2011 imac 27 running an apogee symphony interface, i guess my question would be, can i send the audio from my goxlr interface (windows) and symphony interface (Mac) to the Rodecaster pro 2 and place them on separate channels so that i can have both audios on my streaming pc using OBS, so pretty much a 3 PC set up using windows and mac?

Hey Stephen, to prevent feedback, there is a feature that automatically mutes the monitors when the mic fader is lifted/active. You can adjust this in settings > outputs > monitor. @@rodemic Thanks for the response. Now, don't laugh, it's an old 160gb Classic iPod! On the RCP1 using the trrs cable from the headphone socket in the ipod to the machine worked a treat. I've tried using a combination of cables to take it back to the USB-C connection, but nothing works. I have through trial and error discovered a workaround in that using a jack plug in one of the mic slots solves it, but I lose a microphone. Not ideal, but workable for my needs. I think losing the TRRS slot is a mistake. Otherwise, all good.

Hey Quincy, just double checking you're using a Lightning Accessory cable such as the SC19? Regular charge and sync cables will not be able to transfer the data needed to operate this with the RØDECaster Pro II properly.

Hello I have the NTH 100 headphones and I am not able to hear anything. I was able to hear the music during the setup process. But after that nothing. Very simple setup. 1 PodMic using xlr for input 1. 1 USB-C connection to my Mac mini computer. 1 USB C cable to the Roadcaster device. 1 headset connection via 1/4 inch male connection to headphone jack 1. Yes, it should work with Zoom all fine via USB2. Just make sure you are using the SC17 cable for USB Type C iPads

You can! It really depends on what your TV's outputs are- you may be able to connect it through Bluetooth, or by converting your TV's analogue outputs into line in inputs.

There is no difference in functionality, however, the SC19 provides more length compared to the SC15 (1.5m compared to 300mm). Both the SC15 and SC19 are Lightning accessory cables that allow connection to MFi-certified microphones such as the VideoMic NTG to iOS devices that have a Lightning input.

Hey Ernesto, there are limitations on how USB devices can interface with some functions on iPhones. For example, if you are trying to make phone calls via the native phone app, this won't work. Can we ask what you're trying to do with it?

Am i to understand that you only have one (1) channel for routing audio channels on the computer? Meaning i have to group every software to the same channel under the same fader? If so why have you not created a software for audio routing? There are plenty aplications for it and the reason why i can't buy this gear right now is this primary reason. I could buy the now very old GO XLR and get that very functionality. I don't know who has money to buy two computers but that is a very luxurious assumption when regarding for example streamers wanting to up their customizable allerts, different chats and different gaming and our websites to react to. This is a huge, missed oportunity and i think your efforts should go there to include that market. If not people will just buy the GO XLR.

Looks like the honeymoon period is over. The RCP ll now no longer gets recognized by the computer. It tries to map a drive then disappears quickly. Rode Central does not detect it anymore now along with the current pc audio issues still going on. My RCP ll shows it to be 1.0.5 but the beta text is gone from the firmware yet I am told it is still in beta. Gremlins in the works.

Mine wouldn't work on 2.4ghz wifi connection but works fine on 5ghz channel.. Try 5ghz if your router has it
