Ohhh Mr. Stipe... One of the most beautiful ppl to ever live. Lyrically, poetically, his soul is so perfectly sweet. So creative and soooo personally expressive when he performs. I could squeeze him forever! I wish I had the chance to tell him how beautiful and precious he is. He does that to me every single time I hear his voice. If I could meet ONE person that I know I'd never encounter in my life it would be this man right here... No doubt. I wish we could all be so perfect. His smile is so warm and inviting.. Ok I could go on and on and still never come close to expressing my admiration for EVERYTHING Michael Stipe stands for and believes in. He doesn't even seem capable of being mean or harsh. Omg such a wonderful human being. 💟😘

What a song, what a singer, what a poet, what a band

My feeling exactly Denice! As a poet for thirty years now, Stipe is one of my favorite singers, and on a personal level as a lifelong introvert, he is the introvert with the courage to also be a performer and does so confidently.

I work in the oilfield here in Texas and work to pursue my music career. When I feel like giving in and being an oilfield scum the rest of my life I listen to R.E.M and Nirvana to remind me that I'm not like these guys out here and that perfect. I use to feel bad not being like these close minded assholes out here who just think of oil field work and degrading women a drinking beer, watching football, talking about how many hours they're worked and how much they make. When I hear music like this it reminds me the outcast and weirdos have a place in this world. Whether music, arts, or whatever else it may be besides typical American standard jobs

You can't see the beauty and humanity in oilfield workers, despite their flaws. That's why you'll probably never be a great artist.

No me escuchas mentalmente.

This actually is a beautiful song but it was a little off-putting when he described it as such before singing it, when he himself (co-)wrote it.
