A lot of pop Americana imagery, Andy Kaufman was a great comedian who included Elvis impersonations and a pro wrestling schtick in his routines, who died tragically of lung cancer at a young age. Fred Blassie was an iconic championship pro wrestler who I used to watch as a kid.The song a tribute to Andy

I think the context of the song is whether a person believe all the thing which society presents. And lacking belief is a personal choice. Andy Kaufman was a comedian who pushed the envelope in that he actually wrestled with a bear; and I also think that he was injured in another wrestling incident. Andy was mostly famous for the character he played on the sit-com "Taxi" which was named "Latka" which was also part of his stand-up comedy. If I am wrong please correct me....

Andy Kauffman is responsible for the greatest wrestling gimmick ever. Kauffman, as part of his act, started to wrestle women. Eventually, he began to call himself the Inter-Gender World Champion. Kauffman then contacted Jerry "The King" Lawler, perhaps the most popular wrestler ever to come out of the Southern US. They created a gimmick where Kauffman would come to Memphis, Tenessee to insult female wrestling fans and to challenge them to wrestle. Eventually, Lawler would step in to defend the women's honor. The national press caught on and picked up the story and many people thought it was real even leading to TV host David Letterman having them on his show. instead of admitting it was all fake Kauffman and Lawler took it a step further and made wrestling history,. here is the unedited YOUTube link to the 1982 episode of the Late Show hosted by David Letterman. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKmzpYGLgNWnl8k

He put up $10K for any Woman who could beat him in the Wrestling Ring. No Woman ever was able to beat him and claim the prize.

Hi; nice reaction. Your perspective is interesting. I was surprised to hear that you thought the US was claiming credit for historical advances in science, etc..... As an American (U.S. anyway), nobody, and I mean nobody, over here thinks that those wonderful advances (Newton and so on) happened in the U.S. or the West. But I find it interesting that your experience is that we think that they did. Makes me curious about how our views are presented elsewhere in the world. - Warm wishes.....Keep doing your honest reactions - they are enlightening and fun

Andy Kaufman was a genius comic who lost himself in his characters. The question literally was he had gone insane or we just didn't get it. The games mentioned are things he played when "entertaining" people. You obviously don't have the cultural references necessary to understand the song. The song is actually rather tragic, about a genius either misunderstood or a genius who lost touch with reality.
