This song is amazing and the best of the five I have heard. I totally agree with whoever said R.E.M. is more about music than lyrics. Stipe has written some excellent words, but it's music that pulls me in more than anything. I love "What's the Frequency, Kenneth?" because of the great guitar riff, not because it has a line "Butterfly decal rearview mirror dogging the scene." I have no problem with R.E.M. being R.E.M. if the songs are good. The new ones I have heard are very good.
