James Ford I can only imagine how expensive it must’ve been to acquire that bumper. Somewhere along the line something will happen, so it would be very smart to try to reproduce the parts.

This is too sick! Definitely worth getting a mould made of that front splitter. Can recommend a few places for composite work if you need any. Work for f1 team in composites myself.

I think you need to remove the stock diffuser to mount the new one higher up closer to the exhaust and then possibly have some small carbon bits made to fill in the higher areas that will look naked with the factory diffuser removed.

I get to see a few “special” work shops in my job but that place is very very nice, some history there too. I love how in Germany / Austria/ France a lot of these places are literally in peoples back gardens and they have just got a bit bigger

First a bad ass 964 Turbo now a road going Reiter GT1 Murcielago, boy you are living that dream, also go all out mount the wing just like it was on the racecar its such a bad ass crazy balls to the wall supercar that it deserves just such styling! (it might be even kind of homage to the Countach not so functional but amazing looking wing). Also if you just remove OEM diffuser and get custom tips you might get pretty close to GT1 looks, but yeah get it working first. Really glad for you, first time can admit i'm hyped as when I was the kid watching it racing on the TV!

Been watching through the series and what an awesome build. When you said the bits came off the Le Mans car, then said it was 2008 I thought “I was at the 2008 Le Mans, wonder if I have any pics?” Had a look and I have a few of it in the garage, not sure if I have any of it racing as that’ll take a while to go through the 1000’s of pictures I took of the race. I'll be trying to run the car even lower than I did before to get closer to race height which i going to cause big issues up front with the door hinge area. But other than that I'll be learning as I go as usual.

These engines last 200 hours, so you need 3 engines per car, one in the car, one as a reserve, one is rebuilt, That's $ 105,000 plus the car

Don't go full R-GT replica. Make it an LM road car, full R-GT body with a more subtle wing. Or no wing? You'll have more than enough down force for the road with the ground effects and less drag. Either way, still better than DDE... 😜 Just attach the wing last please? So we can see how phat it looks before you ruin it a little bit.
