GT1 inspired Murcielago too low? - Lamborghini LP640 project Pt11

That's it! The suspension work for the GT1 aero on the Murcielago is finally complete. In this episode we TIG weld the aluminium uprights, finish the upper & lower arms & drop the car back onto its wheels for an alignment.

Everytime I watch one of your videos it makes me wanna do something else to my Stagea! I'm currently figuring out how to make my own carbon fiber widebody fenders. I'm also in the process to cutting up a factory wing and adding about 7-8 inches in length along with making custom wing stands for support that will attach lower on the hatch. Every video I watch gives me more motivation and a push to just try and do something I've never tried before. Keep up the amazing work cant wait to see this beast on the road!!

Guys, after welding that front hub, it needs heat treatment, to TF designation. At a guess, I think the original casting would be LM25. After that welding, it's been annealed, and lost 50% of its tensile strength. LM25-TF, Sand Cast 0.2% Proof Stress (N/mm2 ) 200-250, Tensile Stress (N/mm2 ) 220-260 Chill Cast0.2% Proof Stress (N/mm2 ) 230-280, Tensile Stress (N/mm2 ) 280-320. In fact, I'd much rather see a CNC lump for the whole part in the end.

This project is insane (In a good way). Could Craig make up a similar shock suspension with lift for a stock murci? Mine are starting to give me trouble and cost 4k each side to replace.

Unfortunately not. The standard shock is extremely short. It's mad that they managed to squeeze a lift piston in there.

You probably need to change some settings in the ECU with the new sensor setup

For the ABS? It's the same sensor & the wheel has the same amount of teeth. That's the whole reason we spent so much time doing it this way, so it works exactly as it did.

It doesn't need a great deal. I already modified the rear lower arms before I started the RGT stuff. I want to make sure it sit's low enough & the suspension works as it should, but I don't intend on getting too crazy at this stage.

Thanks! It's -2.5 camber, 7* castor & 2mm toe in at the moment. As with all my cars, this is likely to change a little when I first start to drive it.

It is. The GT1 Murcielago is an R-GT. It's the last generation before Reiter Engineering moved to R-SV (which is pretty much identical, just a lot uglier).
