For those who can't read Japanese (I can't either, but I learned some Chinese), I've been able to decipher that 日光江戸村 means "Nikko Edo Village." Nikko is a beautiful spa town about 50 miles north of Tokyo. Edo is a period in Japanese history that spans from 1600 to 1868. So this is happening in the Japanese version of Colonial Williamsburg or Colonial Plymouth in the United States. This parade shows the resplendent costumes of the Edo period. Just letting you know! :D
Little Kitty If you are familiar with the movie Devdas the lady in the super tall slippers is like Chandramukhi from Devdas. She’s a very high class courtesan. So she gets her own little fancy parade.

Bellissima rappresentazione... ...bellissimi i costumi e bellissima la yūjo. Una mia curiosità: chissà se gli antichi egizi avevano una danza del genere. Vedendo le loro raffigurazioni, sembrano molto simili...
