It helped me to work on years of awful habits and self image stuff built up by the rest of the school system... It's hard to put inti words just how much band meant to me. I joined relatively late, so my first concert (specifically a Christmas concert) was halfway through high school. Even though I was new and I had no idea what I was doing, everyone there was so kind and encouraging and I never felt like an outsider. It takes so much hard work to put something like that together, you know? And the Nightmare Before Christmas is a fairly complicated piece... They put weeks of hard work into that. There was a also a photographer that refused to take pictures of the wedding when he found out that the bride was 14 and he got beaten up over it. The girl was later taken to the child protective services, i dunno what happened to the dude after but i think he filed a lawsuit. Don't know if he won though. Turkish law system is one of the most horrifying things you can witness when it comes to sexual harrasment/violence and abuse of a child. I've seen countless women getting killed and their murderers being released early/getting away without any punishment because they wore a suit to the court, didn't make any problems in the jail or the murdered person wore a short skirt/"seduced the man"/was outside of her home after 8 PM. :) I also remember the time when a charitiy orginization Called "Ensar" had a massive rape scandal where more than 15 boys were raped for years. There's a few cases of mothers injuring and killing their children to get attention, similar to playing the victim where you'd pretend to be sick or raped. Typically, the intent is only to injure, but it builds up to a fatality, but in this case, she might have outright killed the child. Or it could be something else entirely.

When I was at a religious middle school, I was 13 while this girl was 15 (she got held back a couple of years) and at the time I just discovered the possibility that I might’ve been a lesbian and I told this to her thinking she was my friend. This girl later confessed that she was in love with me and wanted to kiss me behind the school so none of the teachers could reprimand us. When I arrived at our spot, I was met with three other girls, including one who pranked me, who then started to beat and kick me to the ground before calling me a “psycho f****t.” That was the first time I ever heard the f-slur in my life and it was that moment that prevented me from coming out for four years afterwards. And so, being the clearly socially put together individual who learns from his mistakes and corrects his actions, he proceeds to blame the family of those two he and his friends killed and destroyed the memorial for them. It was one of the worst feelings ever when I found out that it was a giant joke and I hope that whoever experienced this situation can find love someday and that the people who do this feel bad but are never forgiven so they live with that feeling forever.

Oh boy! Storytime!! In 6th grade, I had a huge crush on this boy. I had liked him since the beginning of the schoolyear. I remember what had sparked this crush; he had been nice to me once! Yeah, I was kinda very pathetic. Though I was also an affection starved girl who had extreme self esteem issues and dealt with bullies. I, fortunately, have gone through counciling and am much happier thanks to the support of my friends. So back to the story, this guy and everyone else in my grade knew I liked him. Though it wasn't until Valentines Day that I had finally decided to give him a cute little "Roses are red, Violets are blue" poem. At first, he rejected me. Which I was a little disappointed by, but, hey, not the end of the world! Then, in the next week, he asked me to be his girlfriend and to go to the dance (which was in April, I think). I, being super happy and excited, said yes. This dude had led me on FOR A MONTH. He even let me, the weirdo and social outcast, sit with him and his friends (he was popular because he was a football player in a very sporty small country town). I remember back when I was at summer camp, two of my friends thought they'd prank me by telling me that the girl they knew I had a crush on liked me back. Now here's the kicker. When I asked her about it, she admitted that she *did* in fact, reciprocate my feelings. Imagine their shock when they saw the two of us holding hands later that week.
@Charmix693 жыл бұрын
You MUST elaborate, this is amazing
@TitusRedwind3 жыл бұрын
@@Charmix69 This was back when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. Back then I went to a summer camp every year because my parents didn't want me to waste my time playing video games. This wasn't a sleep-away camp with cabins or anything like those old cliche movies or tv shows. It was just a place where your parents dropped you off, you spend a few hours there, then you get picked up and come back the next day. There was a field, a pool, a sandbox, a basketball hoop and little else. They had daily activities like arts and crafts, swim lessons, nature hikes, typical things like that. The rest of the time we were free to do as we wanted. But the number one rule (besides don't beat each other up or get yourself killed) was absolutely NO electronics for the campers. No cell phones, no mp3 players, no Gameboys, etc. Enough about the camp. Let me talk about my friends. We had a lot of shared interests, and like me, they were there every summer. It was me, Noah, Chris, Adam, and Ethan. There were other kids that would drift in and out of our little circle, but we were the core 5. We did everything together, and if you saw one of us, the rest weren't far away. In a place where there's no electronics allowed, there's not much else to do but talk. And as a teenager during puberty, there was one thing on my mind. Girls. But there was one girl in particular who caught my eye. Her name was Carly. We talked somewhat often. Not on a daily basis or anything. It was one of those situations where someone falls between friend and acquaintance. Whenever me and the guys would talk about what girls we liked, she was always the first one I would talk about. Looking back, I don't think I was actually in love. It was more like a childish crush, but at that age, it's almost impossible to tell the difference. It was clear as day to my friends that I was interested in Carly. Noah and Chris were always the trouble makers of our group. Not in the sense of causing vandalism or anything really bad. They were more like pranksters, but their little pranks didn't often go over well with the camp counselors. It ranged from throwing water balloons at someone, to the old shaken soda trick. Pretty much just harmless stuff. Being the tricksters they were, they decided to play a prank on me. One morning, we were hanging out at one of the various picnic tables scattered throughout the camp. That's when Noah pulled me aside to talk to me about "something important" as I believe he put it. When the others were out of earshot, Noah told me that Carly had come up to him and Chris to ask them about me, specifically if I had a girlfriend. At this point I was excited but still a little hesitant about it. Chris had come in a few minutes later. His mom always stopped by a Dunkin Donuts on the way there to get him some munchkins, which often meant he was the last of our group to arrive. I saw this as the perfect time to verify what Noah had told me. I approached him before he was even able to sit down and asked to speak with him for a moment. I asked if Carly had talked to him about anything since I thought it was the most subtle way to go about it. (Clearly it wasn't). He pretty much told me exactly what Noah had and I was convinced. I asked Carly if I could eat lunch with her and her friends for that day. I forget what excuse I came up with but it was probably totally transparent. She asked her friends and they said they had no problem with it. Lunch time rolls around and I tell Carly I wanted to speak with her in private. She looked a bit nervous but agreed so we walked a bit away from her friends so we could talk alone. It was obvious from how quiet the other two had gotten that they were listening in but I didn't bother searching for somewhere secluded. I came out and asked her if she liked me. She blushed and asked who told me. I was confused and repeated what my friends had told me. She was equally confused and denied having talked to either of them about that. I was absolutely devastated and completely embarrassed at first. I said something along the lines of "oh so you don't like me back?" But that's where the story takes a sharp turn. She realized that I wasn't trying to turn her down but actually asking her out. She reassured me that she felt the same way I did and asked if we should start dating. I obviously agreed. I spent the rest of lunch with her and her friends and then returned to my own. I was on cloud nine but a part of me was also a bit mad at Noah and Chris since they almost caused me to make a fool of myself so I didn't let them know what had happened. Instead I told them I chickened out and couldn't ask her. I was already formulating my plan to get back at them. A day or two later I asked Carly if she was comfortable taking our relationship public. She agreed and had actually already told her friends about it. Still, the word hadn't really got out yet since we weren't being overly affectionate right off the bat. We were still kids after all and didn't actually know the first thing about what dating actually meant. That's when I told her that I wanted to turn the prank back on my friends and pass by them while holding hands. She agreed to go along with it. She didn't really care about getting back at them, she just did it because I wanted to. And that's what we did. The next morning, instead of going to the picnic table like usual, I waited with Carly near turtle rock. (That was just a big ass rock that everyone called turtle rock because it vaguely resembled a turtle. That isn't relevant to the story, just thought I'd share.) We watched as Chris came in, carrying a box of munchkins like always, and once he sat down at the table, we made our move. We held each other's hand and walked past the table, not directly Infront of them, but close enough where my friends could easily see me. We didn't do anything much after that. We just sat down at a different table and played cards. It didn't take long for the rest of my group to make their way over. Then I sealed the deal by immediately thanking Chris and Noah for setting me up with Carly. Adam and Ethan were both super happy for me and congratulated me. Noah and Chris, however, they were shocked. They actually pretended that they had planned for it to work out like that to begin with. Something I highly doubt. Those two were clever, but not even they could have predicted the way things turned out. But I guess it doesn't really matter anyhow, because things worked out in the end. And that is the story of how I came to spend a summer with a girl named Carly.
