Having the kid's email helps him fall for scams? WTH is going on❔ Whether or not the dad is a crackpot, the kid sounds like he smoked the paranoia pot.

A thing I thought of the other day was if "love for a mother is unconditional" then isn't the love of a mother to a son/daughter also unconditional?
@wmdkitty Жыл бұрын
Should be.
@treepotato9273 Жыл бұрын
I think love is unconditional both ways, even if you absolutely hate them you probably still feel love for them, it's a biological thing. Respect is never unconditional though and anyone that tells you it is is probably trying to control you.
@MadAliceInWonderland Жыл бұрын
It's a complex thing. I have love for my parents, and they have love for me. But I also hate them to a degree, because they were abusive as hell and took advantage of that love. Now we sporadically talk here and there, but I'm just glad I'm an adult and out of that hell-hole. The love is there, but it's not healthy love. Love isn't always enough, unconditional or not, love itself isn't what can save a relationship between parent and child.

@Cheesus-Sliced Жыл бұрын
It *is* reasonable to know what you're committing to before committing to it. The only time it's reasonable for someone to expect you to act immediately when told is when it's time critical and it's been discussed before hand, and these things are usually hobby or work related anyway. Anyone who refuses to tell you what you're getting involved in before you make the choice to be involved has no respect for your agency.
@NEPAAlchey Жыл бұрын
You are lesser to them. It is your duty to unquestioningly do as you are told. Your question is an act of defiance as it implies there are reasons that could be given that would make you decline their demand. It's a narcissist power dynamic issue.

“Because I said so” is the laziest argument of all time. It simply shows how a person’s status makes them better than the one being asked to do something. If you don’t want to explain something, you can simply say that. (If you live in the USA) you have the right to silence, but the other party should have the right to refuse. Show them that they aren’t just a puppet and that they can say no. But if you make a decision that you strongly believe is a good idea and the child disagrees, then “I’m your parent and I said so” can be a valid argument, but it should be used as much as martial artists try to fight. Rarely, but when necessary

4:24 I effectively did that to my grandma, she's a religious nut who had me being one for a decent chunk of my childhood. I'm still fucking livid over that.

13:10 Yeah, bother them until they can't take it anymore and finally answer the question. The mom is violating the custody agreement, and she needs to be in jail

2:33 unnecessary chores like creating messes with the intention of making the child clean it. This is but one miniscule example. Also, there's military torture that can happen, like with my sorry ass. Thanks mom for giving me mental issues!

"So many people feel like explanations are required" The only time I personally feel like explanations could be required is things like someone genuinely wanting to know what mistake they made so they could get better but even then, or if y'know you're at the doctor wanting to know what's wrong No one owes explanations for themselves

I swear, there should be a license we’re having kids. I know that will come with a whole host of issues, but quite frankly, it would be better than having insane people having children.

3:50 the oh so simple concept of "look both ways before crossing" is so well taught that a 6 year could learn it, either by school or educational television program that everyone has watched at least one time in their childhood

2:14 - Oh, I love this. This 100% confirms my hypothesis of the age of stoping torturing humans is the age they get big enough to rub your bloody face on the ground, as they should. Now I have to look for confirmation of my other hypothesis that the diminished ability to kill you back with their bare hands is the reason why some people, say women, old people and people with disabilities, never stop getting assaulted at their homes. This makes for a great Foucaultian hipothesis on domestic violence.
