RK Laxman@100 - A treat for Cartoon Lovers
To commemorate the Birth Centenary of the Legendary Cartoonist R K Laxman, IIC organised a special exhibition in Bengaluru from October 23, 2021 to November 13, 2021.
The exhibition displayed different facets of his work and some rare photographs.
R k Laxman (1921 -2015), born in Mysore, started drawing cartoons at the age of three and continued for ninety years.
Winner of awards ranging from Padma Vibhushan to the Ramon Magsaysay Award, Laxman’s wit and humour will live on through his innumerable cartoons and compilations.
“The display works at the exhibition include his political cartoons, Crows, You Said It, Caricatures, Unpublished doodles, Illustrated Weekly covers, Koravanji Cartoons, Crows, management cartoons, Tenali Rama, Kolkata sketches, Madhya Pradesh sketches, Odissa sketches, Grandmother’s tales, Asian paints Gattu, Wagale ki Dunia and 50 special photos,” said V.G. Narendra, Cartoonist and the Managing Trustee of Indian Institute of Cartoonists.
