Day 1
The Kalash, an integral part of the religious ceremony, was procured from Bhicholim, a place known for its spiritual and cultural significance. The event commenced with a huge rally that began in Bhicholim and made its way towards the Xetrapal Temple in Oxel Siolim.
The rally was marked by the enthusiastic participation of all the villagers of Oxel Siolim, who contributed to the occasion with great fervor and devotion. Traditional music, chants, and religious hymns echoed throughout the journey as the procession proceeded with the Kalash, symbolizing peace, prosperity, and divine blessings.
The event culminated with the arrival of the Kalash at the Xetrapal Temple, where it was received with immense reverence and ceremonial rituals. The dedication and collaborative efforts of the Oxel Siolim community made this event a truly memorable and spiritually uplifting experience for all involved.
This grand rally not only emphasized the cultural heritage of the region but also showcased the deep-rooted faith and unity of the people of Oxel Siolim.
Day 2
The second day of the Kalash Sthapana ceremony at Xetrapal Temple, Oxel, Siolim, was a significant step in the sanctification of the temple. The community came together with devotion and determination to complete the ritualistic process leading to the installation of the four sacred Kalash atop the temple dome.
Key Highlights:
1. Sacred Rituals Conducted:
The day began with elaborate rituals performed by the temple priests (bhatjis) alongside the villagers. These ceremonies involved traditional prayers, offerings, and chanting of mantras, creating an atmosphere of divine sanctity.
2. Participation of the Villagers:
The task of placing the Kalash was carried out with active participation from both the youth and adults of the village. Demonstrating courage and teamwork, they climbed to the top of the temple dome to position the four Kalash securely, a challenging yet symbolic act that reflects their commitment to their faith and heritage.
3. Preparation for the Main Kalash:
While the four Kalash were positioned, the central and most significant Kalash is set to be fixed the following day, on 16th December 2024. This will mark the final step in the temple’s consecration process.
Day 3
The final day of the Kalash Sthapana ceremony at Xetrapal Temple in Oxel, Siolim, was a grand culmination of devotion and tradition. The day’s rituals, led by the temple priests (Panditjis, also known as Bhatjis), were performed with precision and reverence, marking the successful completion of the sacred Kalash installation.

1. Sacred Rituals by Bhatjis:
The day began with elaborate rituals performed by the Bhatjis (village priests). The final and most significant Kalash was installed atop the temple dome in a sanctified process involving mantras, offerings, and prayers. This moment marked the spiritual completion of the temple’s consecration.
2. Temple Rounds by Village Women:
In a beautiful and symbolic gesture, the village women, holding lit diyas in their hands, took five rounds (pradakshinas) of the temple. This act symbolized devotion, unity, and the illumination of the temple and the community with divine energy. The glowing diyas added to the spiritual ambiance of the occasion.
3. Community Bhojan (Feast):
The ceremony concluded with a grand bhojan (community feast) organized for all the villagers and attendees. The feast, prepared and served with love and dedication, reflected the spirit of togetherness and celebration.
4. Significance of the Ceremony:
The installation of the final Kalash, combined with the collective participation of the villagers, symbolized the sanctification of the temple and its readiness to serve as a center of spirituality and worship. The five rounds by women with diyas further reinforced the idea of blessings and prosperity for the entire community.
