This a great video! Thanks for showing me how to install the R Kernel! I ended up on your video because i didn't have nbconvert installed on jupyter notebook, and a lot of issues were created while trying to make nbconvert work. At least now i got the kernel up again xd

For problem with the R Kernel: Make sure you're running the 3 lines of R code in an R shell in your terminal (or command prompt if on Windows), not in RStudio.

now there is a way to install R in Jupyter .. just install the latest anaconda. Open up navigator and click home on your left. Then on your right look for R studio and click install. Once installed launch ur Jupyter by clicking launch button for Jupyter. click new notebook you can see R is available already.

To be even more clear ... R shell in your terminal, not in RStudio NOR in the shell in the R Program. It needs to be in a R shell (within bash). This is because the R app doesn’t honor $PATH changes in ~/.bash_profile
