you need the narrow bar for the use with the rain cover. When steering, the bar goes INTO the raincover. And a wider bar would collide with that

I really liked this video. However, my interest in cargo bikes is focused on what it does under load-especially on hills. I would love to see this bike in a video hauling all sorts of cargo. We have seen this wonderful video on handling. What happens when it is loaded to maximum capacity? What effect does it have on braking distance? Are children able to lean out (they way mine do) reaching for things? What happens to the handling then? How stable is the kick stand when children are climbing into the bucket? I hope I don’t sound like I am trolling, but these are questions I have had at the dealer, and I am referred to videos like this. Thanks.

In terms of handling, having a heavy load doesn't really have much of an impact. With a heavy load hills will be slower, and you'll want to adjust your braking distance, although it really hasn't made much of a difference for me. The kickstand is incredibly stable and it isn't a problem for child to climb in and out of the box.

I'm seriously thinking of ditching my vehicle for a bike. But the choices and unknown factors are staggering and frequently insanely expensive. Are these bikes capable of bikepacking and towing a trailer? I'm looking at a recembent trike, a frontloader and longtail cargo bikes as a way to adventure with a trailer in tow for camera gear, sleep system and food. I'm also over 50 and would definitely want comfort and e-assist. What is your recommendation for my scenario? My 2 favorite are the RM Load75 and Azub Ti-Fly X trike vs anything else like a Yuba spicy curry.

I'd like a solar powered cargo version of a tadpole trike, one with the solar panels above the rider. Also with a good load capacity, range, and fast charging usable for long distance touring.

Thanks did the excellent, detailed video! I am curious up to what size and weight limits kids can comfortably ride in this bike’s cargo area. My kids are average height (about at the 45th percentile) and will be 4-years-old soon. What’s a rough guess as to how many years I’d be able to use this bike with them? 2 years? 3 years? Longer?

It really depends on so many factors, but I was still taking my daughter for rides in my Load when she was 10. There is lots of room, and it handles really well.

You will see a reduction in range during colder weather, but if you use the Fahrer battery covers that helps keep the batteries warmer: citruscycles.ca/fahrer-bosch-battery-cover

Can the bike be ridden if all power is lost?

Yes, you certainly can. When the batteries are depleted the Bosch system still reserves power for your lights and electronic shifting.

Depending if you have the single battery or dual battery version and your style of riding it. With a load of 150kg (driver included) you get in between 50 and 180km range.

@@el_panchini I've managed some fairly steep gravel tracks on it. However, did have to stop on the really steep, loose parts. The nice thing about the Load is the walk assist feature - it just pulls the bike up anything at 2mph. So I've never been stuck.

How’s the winter conditions like in that part of Canada? In Tromsø, the winter weather ranges from rainy, snowy, icey, mushy snow etc. I have never seen a good review where a cargo bike has been tested in really trying winter conditions, with lots of ‘loose’ snow and or icey conditions.

Normally we only have a week or two of snow at the most here in Ladysmith. This past winter was an exception, as you could see from the video! The two bikes I rode during our month of snow and ice was a fat bike and the Load 75 Cargo bike - they were the safest.

I have the Load 60 with the Rohloff E14 internal hub. I rode it almost every day this past winter in Montreal taking my daughter to school, doing groceries and commuting, down to -30C for multiple days with snow and snow/ice in the roads no problem. I have the GX package and Gates belt drive. We also have pretty good bike infrastructure in Montreal which helps. The only days I didn’t take it out were the days with freezing rain (about a handful of days). It takes a bit of getting used to riding in the winter but I find it’s much safer with the longer wheelbase (keeps it nice and stable) and weight low down (in the box, vs a rear rack child seat).
