We had 2 young raccoons in my apartment building’s dumpster. We put a large branch inside but they couldn’t climb out. We thought maybe they had exhausted themselves. We grabbed sry cat food and water to put inside and left them alone. We came back an hour later and they ate all the food and drank most of the water, but still haven’t climbed out. I ended up jumping into the dumpster (it was empty except for one trash bag). I had a towel to throw over one and I picked it up, handed it to me my boyfriend who say it down and it ran a little ways off and waited. I got the other one out (was harder cuz this one wanted to fight). We sat it down and watch it run to the other one (siblings probably). They both ran off and we never saw them again.

I was walking one morning and I heard something SCREAMING in a trash can. I put my phone over it and pressed record. (I didn't know what it was and if it attacked, it would at least not attack my face.) It was the TINIEST raccoon. It couldn't climb out. Sides were too slick and there wasn't enough trash to climb out. I tried giving it a fairly long stick, but it was too scared to use it. So I used two sticks and knocked over the can. (Basically, I didn't think it would hurt me, but I had sticks just in case.) Tipped it over super slowly and the second the can hit the ground, the raccoon ran out of the can and into a storm culvert.
