► Tyr: The stalwart god of Justice and War amongst the 'Aesir' in germanic mythology. He sacrificed his hand to the monstrous wolf Fenrir, who bites off his limb while the gods bind the animal, and he is foretold of being consumed by the similarly monstrous dog 'Garmr' during the events of Ragnarök. In Old Norse sources, Tyr is alternately described as the son of the Jötunn 'Hymir' or of the god 'Odin'. He is the namesake of the rune 'Tiwaz' (ᛏ). On runic inscriptions, 'ᛏ' often appears as a magical symbol. ► Artwork by "Simon Wallner Design" - Make sure to follow him on Instagram: "@simonwallnerdesign" -- Since the moments leading to his death (sacrificing his limb, being killed by a similar hound) were quiet tragic, I wanted to approach this by using melodies and tones hat resemble just that. I hope you enjoy the very first track of Rúnfells newest album! Thank you for all support

I was just about to ask you if there is a new album coming out. Glad to know I was correct. Tyr, along with Odinn and Thor, are the gods I honor the most, along with my Germanic ancestors. I cannot wait to add my Tyr statue to my altar. Odinn and Thor are already there, in bronze.

Hopefully soon you will upload the fascinating music that you compose, this was poetic... the setting and the atmosphere, the war cries and the sound of the swords and that accompanying flute was superlative, honoring Aesir... Greetings from Germany🐺

Throat singing is always badass. I am sad that the nature of the interactions between my people (Scottish) and Scandinavians was often one of bloodshed. I hope that moving forward we can have peace, brotherhood, and collectivist sharing in the richness of our resources, both material and cultural. Hail Odin! Hail Tyr!
@HroduuulfSonOfHrodger3 жыл бұрын
The Celts and the Germanic tribes were very close to one another. Some even believe we were all one people before splitting off long ago. It would make sense as we share so much and look so similar compared to the Spaniards, Italians, and Greeks. We also lived right next to one another. I am Germanic with Celtic and Slavic in my family lines. I have been studying and practicing the old ways of my Germanic ancestors, and I now have enough grasp where I wish to learn more about my Celtic and Slavic ancestors and their old ways and old gods. I support reconstructionist historical Heathenry of the pre-Christian European Peoples. There can be peace, and will be peace, among our varying peoples from Northern Europe, especially now when it seems the rest of the world is turning against us and attempting to make Europeans out to be "the bad guys" of the world. I stand and fight for all people of all cultures and "colors" and will fight in defense of my own people with that same ferocity.

My wife is an Irish-American, by the way, and we have children named after the authentic culture of the Celts and Gaels: Eirinn Ciara, Finnian, and Donovan.

hey bro. awesome work again. you are a great artist. i discovered you in spotify. i often listen to your both albums. today i stalked your instagram profile. i found the post about this single song. so i discovered this song 2 months after first release. what a waste:( why didnt u release this on spotify? btw, greetings from turkey:) i love this genre. is it nordic, viking? what is this genre exactly?
3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words, Yaşar! The genre is a bit hard to describe but "Nordic Ambient Folk" comes pretty close. Tyr isn't released on Spotify yet since it'll come with the whole album when it's finished.

3 жыл бұрын
I do make money by selling my songs, yes. They're available on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp and so on. Furthermore, they're streamed on Spotify, Dezer etc. Regarding KZbin, I hardly make any money from these but that's fine with me. I'm just happy to have such a great community that shares my interest in old, archaic music.
