Bad grip on a pistol is one of the leading causes of poor marksmanship. Grip is more then just holding or gripping the weapon. Proper grip uses the proper structure of your hands with your wrist line. Understand how to reduce recoil flip by applying pressure at points on the gun. Understand with proper grip it allows for a clean press on the trigger without moving the weapon offline.

The most direct, extremely helpful instruction with the most unhelpful loud and unnecessary music blasting away the entire time. Adding the energy of glamour with that music gives this presentation the feel of a video game. That doesn’t seem like a good idea to me, but I’m a civilian and not familiar with military culture.

look up bob vogel grip, its what this gentleman uses. Its helped me become a very good competitive 3 gun shooter. However with this grip, you should cut your slide stop flush to the slide. It can induce malfunctions in a gun fight under stress if you have bigger hands, or wear gloves as the slide stop can be pushed up under recoil locking your slide back. i do cut outs on the magwell to strip a stuck mag, and i always rack the slide when in slide lock. After a while you get pretty fast at it. On the gen 5s i just cut out the left side as im a right handed shooter.

Hey guys novice shooter here, when Ronin says to have a strong wrist but then relax the grip once the support hand finishes the two handed grip, how do you keep your wrist strong while relaxing your hand? It’s like throwing a punch with a loose fist. I really want to get better at shooting flatter cuz every time no matter how I grip my front sight is all over the place.
@rainydays516
@rainydays516 Жыл бұрын
You'll always want a firm grip with both hands. Only your trigger finger is relaxed. You want shoulders to relax a bit also. You want to grip the pistols to be almost forceful. Like if some1 smack your hands while you're holding the gun it shouldn't move much. Train your wrists slowly with weights. Your forearms need to be solid too, it'll help

I’m just curious if he has a video about manual safety on ccw vs a non manual safety
@pacmanjones5625
@pacmanjones5625 3 жыл бұрын
my guess would be that he would say to train either way. Just as he mentioned there were times with his carbine in CQB where he would have his safety on and off depending on situation, BUT he trained that way so it was muscle memory. If you are going to train to have one in the pipe and a manual safety on then make sure you train to flip it off during your draw stroke. If you don't want a manual safety then never carry your EDC gun to have a manual safety so you don't have to guess if there's a safety to flip off or not under stress. This is a very conflicting argument on both sides, but the main thing is to TRAIN and to ALWAYS CARRY your gun that way so that you revert back to your training when/if the time comes to use your gun. Last thing you would want is to get used to a gun not having any type of manual exterior safety and then carry a gun one day that does have one and you go to fire and the gun doesn't go BOOM because you forgot to switch off the safety. The similar argument could also be made about whether to carry with a round in the chamber or not. Once again, it is recommended TO CARRY with one in the chamber and train and do it like that every time you carry, but if you are NOT going to have one in the chamber then you better have extremely good muscle memory to rack that slide as part of your draw stroke. You will always revert back to your training under stressful situations so make sure you carry the way you have trained to where it is second nature
