I guess when you sign consent forms for surgery, you'd also be signing consent to have this done! I still can't fathom how this still happens in some states! I want to say the OBGYN's video I watched said either 20 states still does this or it's only banned in 20 states unless the surgery has to do with reproductive health. Either way, this shouldn't be done period! There are plenty enough wide awake and willing women to have med students learn without the patient being drugged and sedated!

It made cry to hear her talk about what she went through. She is an incredible strong and brave human being, I am glad that she got some kind of justice even if the damage is irreparable. I've been SA'd as well and I totally relate to the impotence you feel when you see how the abuser just goes on with their lives and how scary it is to speak up about someone who has a "good" image, being so afraid that no one will believe you. She's much stronger than I am. I hope she can move on from those experiences and live a beautiful life because she deserves that.

i am sick to my stomach by these perpetrators, its something you can barely allow yourself to believe a human, MULTIPLE people at that, is capable of doing. Dea, thank you for being so candid and sharing your experience and saying their names with confidence, that is not easy and everyone watching recognizes that. This should have never happened to you or any of the other survivors and your bravery in coming forward is seriously astounding and inspired. I wish you nothing but the best in life, you are more than just a survivor of your traumatic experiences. I have faith you will continue to grow and do so much more in life outside of this!!!

Dea, thank u very much for sharing your story. You have made me feel so good ironically, well your words gave me the answer, since I was r4ped I wanted to be the same as before, but you were right, I have to grief my previous self, I´m never going to be the same person and that´s ok, my new broken self deserves some love, I don´t need to look for someone who is no more in this world, I have this new life and I´m gonna make it mine, only mine. You have healed some of the scratches on my heart

I implore EVERYONE to call the police after RIGHT AWAY! You NEED to get things documented to get justice. PLEASE! I know it’s hard! Believe me I understand. Reach deep within yourself to help yourself! And others that may be assaulted!

I never went to the police when a hospital dr raped/sexually assaulted me as it would only come down to my word against his and how on earth does one prove something like this. I'd previously been sexually assaulted by a guy I didn't know in a park and reported that (the guy had afterwards told me where he'd lived) and the police didn't believe me when I went to them over it so I don't think my report was even followed up.

I know this doesn’t help much in the grand scheme of things, but I recommend checking your providers licenses on the department of health provider credential search. It will show you if theyve had their license revoked or suspended. It will also show if they have had any previous enforcement action. Recently A local provider was arrested for assaulting women, but his license had already been suspended years prior from similar reports. His coworker was letting him bill insurance under his name and somehow all of this went unnoticed for years. And even now that the main guy is in prison, the other guys business is still up and running. You never know, so it’s best to check. It’s so sad to think his victim list was growing despite him already being reported.

Honestly, I have never even considered that as a possibility. I thought it was even rude to even think that about any dr. But now I remember that all the men drs I had ware sexually inappropriate with me. I believe that it could have happened to me. I don’t want ever to go to a man dr anymore. I thought it was funny and ok that they flirt. Call you sweat heart. Sometimes they rob their dick on you. But I always thought it was just a joke. But now I see that is not. 90% of the men dr had been sexually inappropriate and I believe those predators could have done something to me.

The prison should contact you if they are possibly or for sure going to release him early and you can write a letter to the court telling them why you do not want him released. I had to go through this and it worked they didn't let him out early.

An actual good therapist wouldn’t overly pry over your personal details. That trust should be built over time via rapport, then sharing is easier with less pressure. So sad to hear about malpractice and its negative impacts :( best wishes.

Dea you have so much heart and soul, I pray that you will continue to be the genuine person you are so you can truly blossom into your full potential. This was such a courageous step into your beautiful blossom, being a voice for those who have also felt unheard in their life because of their past or mental health. Your story proves that just because you struggle with mental health, it doesn’t mean what you say is untrue or what you say doesn’t matter. You are a person with a purpose and you definitely matter. Continue to be full of life! Thank you 🙏🏽✨

I was sexually abused, by a Sutter Health ICU doctor with a nurse present helping him..while I was fighting to stay alive bc I had gone septic and my organs were failing. I recently underwent hip surgery for the second time and when I saw the position they put you in, which is basically stirrups, your legs wide open and no knickers on, I was devastated. My surgeon is a young man, and I was so uncomfortable after I found out (between the first and second operation and I also have to have another operation) I think it is just my mind overthinking and me being uneasy, but you put total trust in these people that are basically strangers who will see you at your most vulnerable state, it's so scary

I had a doctor make out with me right when I came out of surgery and was very out of it. I remembered it like 6 hours later. When I went to the follow up I recorded it and on the way to the follow up I smoked a joint. I got a recording of him saying ‘did you smoke a joint because you were afraid I was going to kiss you again?’ (Whatever that means). I didn’t know at the time recording someone without consent was illegal and no lawyer went to would take the case.

My grandfather swore on his literal deathbed that at St Vincent hospital in Sydney Australia there was a nurse and doctor who pulled the curtains closed when the guy next to him died and they started having sex while asking the dead patient questions and slapping him up and touching him. The got off on the thrill. My grandfather wasnt old and had no dementia and wasnt under the influence of anything. He had a back injury....
