Call me strange but this is what I like. I guess since I used to be quite the social guy and used to play lots of shows. Today since my kids are grown and moved out I'm alone. Sadly even my best friend Annie my toy poodle the kids little sister died this year and so alone is truly alone. She was my baby. Love my kids. Anyway these meet strangers on the road getting a glimpse of their lives is quite intriguing, I am not one to just speak much anymore in my town but yes. Keep them coming Mr. Rusty. Charles seems like a great down to earth gentlemen enjoying his retirement..I hope to do the same soon.

Charles seems like a very nice man. You could sense the trepidation in his voice about his truck's ability in pulling the R-Pod 179. But then, battling 60 mph prairie head winds can give any vehicle a workout.

I had to laugh with the comment about Prius camping. I did that for a while last year before I got my Travato. While it was Ok as long as the weather was OK, it was bad on rainy days. Also I got really tired of battling gnats while cooking supper. ;-)

I had an R-Pod for two days. They did come get it ... Compared to Casita is no comparison. That wind is one point they catch wind like hell. Casita sheds the wind.

Just to let your viewers know, the iPod camper’s bed is a “short” queen. This is due to the width of the camper. If you look at the outside you’ll see that it has exterior fender covers, which makes the actually camper smaller width-wise. I’m 6’4” and wanted to purchase this model but after “live testing” the model at the dealer I realized it wouldn’t work for me. I like the camper but I need a lengthier mattress in a camper. I’m leaning towards the BH16 by Sunset that you video’d awhile ago. Just waiting for a local dealer to get two of them in stock so I can look them over.

Hey Rusty, great interview. Coming across Texas yesterday, to Roswell, the wind was so bad that my Prius was getting 36 mpg. This is the 3rd or 4th Prius i have owned and I have never gotten that kind of mileage. Today its' back to normal. Heading around the state for the next week or so.

You and Charles both mentioned a key point to consider. To camp in one spot for a few days to a week or keep on the move to see many places. Both of you have went RV'ing in a Prius or a motor cycle. There is a time for those of us like you and Charles for transition. No comparison between a Prius and towing a trailer when it comes to getting in and out with the least effort. But, but there is no comparison in comfort to a 16' camper and a Prius. P.S. High winds in Iowa..... only difference is snow blowing instead of sand. NW Iowa to get 6" to 12". It's called a BLIZZARD! Rare, rare, rare. It's almost time to plant corn! Global Warming?
