This is the first in what I hope to be a series looking at the Random*Source Serge modules, of which my eurorack system is centered around. I go over the features and functions and demonstrate with some audio examples.

My NTO dose not make the same shape. Its alot more pure to say. Is your oven temperature all the way up or something? Even looking at the other videos they dont look like your wave shapes?

Is this a DIY build? Those saw and square really look unusual.

You're right, they are unusual. I've thought about this quite a bit. Yes I've built these myself from kits, so perhaps some components were less than ideal, but I dunno. They sound as you would expect however, and I'me pretty sure I've heard Serge mention it's by design.

teezdalien I don’t have one on me right now, but there’s that video of the waveforms on YT kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6bQYodnr7udl8U it’s not a full sweep but the waveforms look a bit more standard. Yours still sounds good. Such a fat and rich sound! Did you use the Thonk kit or you source the parts yourself?
@teezdalien3 жыл бұрын
@@piotr803 The kit was from Thonk. I'd like to see these on a different scope to be honest... Seems strange to me that two separate builds show the exact same weird waveforms though.

@@teezdalien That is strange. I think Thonk said NTO will be back in stock this autumn, so I might build it myself.

@@piotr803 The pcb comes pre-populated with surface mount parts. You just have to solder the jack and pots etc.
